Dakota Johnson Wore Gucci To The 2025 Zurich Film Festival

Dakota Johnson attended the opening night of the Zurich Film Festival, where she received the Golden Eye award celebrating her body of work and the screening of her latest project, Splitsville.

Gucci may have a new designer in Demna, but he clearly already understands Dakota’s style love language: sheer lace, or simply, revealing Gucci gowns. Two weeks ago, it was black lace at the Kering Caring for Women dinner. Last night in Zurich, it was a custom deep-blue Gucci gown—but this time, she went braless.

I know, I know—you’re rolling your eyes. But I don’t hate it. In fact, I like it. Had it been another sheer black number with the same old silhouette, I would’ve been bored. But the rich blue (my favourite colour), the low Basque-style waistline, and that layered tulle skirt all gave this a freshness we haven’t seen from her in a while.

It’s still very Dakota—unapologetic, a little risqué, but a new silhouette. Sheer dresses have been her signature for so long that they’ve become almost second nature. And when it’s done with this kind of twist, I’m not mad at it at all.
