Erin Doherty Wore Louis Vuitton To The 2025 Emmy Awards
Erin Doherty made a powerful statement on the Emmys red carpet. Nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for her role in Adolescence, she stepped into Louis Vuitton and gave us a reminder of just how striking Nicolas Ghesquière’s work can be.

This black bell-shaped gown, crafted from 3D embellished silk mousseline, lurex and virgin wool felted by hand, was the definition of avant garde elegance. It didn’t overwhelm her, but instead carved out this strong, sculptural presence that instantly read Louis Vuitton, even though it doesn’t resemble anything on the Louis Vuitton runway. What I loved was the balance: bold in silhouette, yet refined in detail.
Nicolas Ghesquière is the master of these kinds of bold shapes. Hannah Einbinder at the 2025 Critics’ Choice Awards, Ariana Greenblatt at Cannes, and Danielle Deadwyler at the SAG Awards immediately spring to mind when I think of how successfully he has pushed these daring silhouettes onto the red carpet. Erin’s gown sits beautifully in that lineage while still feeling distinct.
Finished with David Yurman jewels, the styling was understated enough to let the gown take its place as one of the evening’s most impactful looks.
