Rosé of BLACKPINK made history at the 2025 MTV VMAs, becoming the first K-pop soloist to take home the Song of the Year award for her global hit APT. with Bruno Mars. It was a milestone moment, and her dress rose to meet the occasion.

She previewed a butter-yellow Oscar de la Renta Spring 2026 column gown alive with sequins and fringed detailing—signatures of the house. It struck the right balance between elegance and ease, two words not often associated with on this red carpet.

What I loved most was how refreshing this felt from Rosé. She’s often loyal to Saint Laurent’s darker tailoring, but here she stepped into something softer and more celebratory, perfectly suited for such a historic win.

Bird on a Rock Tiffany jewels brought a touch of whimsy, while I would have prefer a metallic pair of Christian Louboutin So Kate pumps over the beige leather she completed the look with.

For a night about firsts, this was Rosé at her most luminous—an award and a look that will go down as one of her defining moments.
