Alison Oliver Wore Marni To The ‘Task’ New York Premiere

Alison Oliver joined Thuso Mbedu for the HBO Task premiere in New York, and I have to admit—I don’t quite know what to do with this Marni Fall 2025 dress.

Part of me loves it: the clash of velvet, calf-hair, faux fur, and pleats feels daring, eccentric, very Marni. But another part of me is overwhelmed by the sheer amount happening all at once. It’s the kind of dress that keeps you staring, half in admiration, half in confusion.

One second I think “multicolour masterpiece,” the next I wonder if it’s just too much. What’s undeniable is that the silhouette holds it all together—despite the chaos of textures and shades, it doesn’t swallow her whole.

So, am I obsessed or exhausted by this look? Honestly, both. And maybe that’s exactly why it kinda works.
