Julianne Moore Wore Alaïa To The ‘Echo Valley’ New York Premiere

Julianne Moore switched gears at the Echo Valley New York premiere on Wednesday, stepping out in a custom Alaïa gown—her first non-Bottega look since Cannes. The Bottega reign may have taken a little pause, but Julianne’s love affair with the colour black remains as strong as ever.

Dressed in sumptuous velvet, the look immediately brought Mary & George to mind—not because it felt costume-y, but because Julianne clearly has a soft spot for a regal neckline and strong, sculpted silhouette. It echoed the navy velvet Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown she wore to that London premiere of the TV series back in February 2024, but this Alaïa dress felt stripped back and less theatrical. A quieter kind of drama.

This wasn’t a loud look, but it knew exactly what it was doing—quietly commanding, deeply luxurious, and unmistakably her.
