Jodie Turner-Smith Wore Burberry To The 2025 Met Gala

If anyone’s going to combine drama, historical reference, and immaculate tailoring with the kind of confidence that makes you want to applaud in the middle of a scroll, it’s Jodie Turner-Smith. She rode into the Superfine: Tailoring Black Style themed Met Gala with poise and precision, and her custom Burberry look was easily one of the most visually captivating of the night so far.

Drenched in rich burgundy, Jodie paid tribute to Selika Lazevski—a Black equestrian photographed in 1891 by Paul Nader during the Belle Époque in Paris. That’s the kind of reference that deserves a full fashion moment, and that’s exactly what she delivered. The leather coat, cinched at the waist with a full bustle, nodded to Victorian silhouettes, but the ornate jacquard floral design made it feel modern and luxuriously detailed.

Then there was the Esenshel hat, dramatically tilted brought elegance, character, and the kind of storytelling we come to the Met Gala for. Matching burgundy heeled loafers sealed the deal.

Jodie honoured the theme it with artistry, intention, and a silhouette that deserves its own round of applause.

MARLI New York Fine Jewellery completed her look.
