Lizzo collected ‘The Video For Good’ Moonman for ‘About Damn Time’ during the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday (August 28). This was just an infectious tune, it became a self-empowerment anthem for people all around the world.
Wearing her second Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture gown of the night, I can say without question that I much prefer this look.
It has shape, it has so much detail (intricate and abstract), it has personality, and I love how Olivier Rousteing paid homage to Madonna’s iconic cone bra for this collection.
I wish her stylist Brett Alan Nelson had made this the main option. I think it’s much more impactful than the red carpet look.
A chain-link nose ring, silver hoops, and strappy black Roger Vivier ‘Viv’ pumps completed her look.
When it comes to Lizzo’s performance of ‘About Damn Time’ / ‘2 Be Loved (Am I Ready)’ the singer wore a custom Rey Ortiz pink latex look for the performance.
Whether you love or loathe this look, I felt like Lizzo was very much in her element. It was a bubble-gum look for a bubble-gum performance.
