Penelope Cruz Wore Chanel Haute Couture To The 2022 Oscars

Penelope Cruz was the other Chanel ambassador who was nominated for an Oscar at the 2022 ceremony on Sunday (March 27), alongside Kristen Stewart.

The Spanish actress wore a custom Chanel taffeta open back gown which was inspired by look 15 from the Fall 2020 Haute Couture collection.

Considering this silhouette is often favoured by Penelope, I wasn’t surprised by this choice at all.

Even with the bow accent, I found this style to be very ageing for Penelope.

All in all, this was a pretty uninspiring awards season run from Penelope. 

The saddest part is, none of us are surprised.  As the saying goes.  “It’s the hope that kills you.” (which means that having no expectations or hopes may be better as your dreams may not be destroyed in a cruel manner.)
