Amanda Gorman Wore Vera Wang To The 2021 Met Gala

Amanda Gorman joined her fellow 2021 Met Gala co-chairs Timothée Chalamet and Billie Eilish on the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Sunday (September 13) in New York City.

The poet wore custom Vera Wang brilliant blue strapless gown featuring a sheer skirt that billowed onto the red carpet.

Her look was inspired by the Statue of Liberty, with her crown taking the form of laurels to reference her poetic prowess.

This was such a well styled and well thought out look.

Her custom Edie Parker clutch – which acts as the statues tablet – reads, “Give us your tired” which is a line from a poem which is at the base of the Statue of Liberty.

Opting of carrying a torch, the look was complete with blue Stuart Weitzman Nudist sandals.
