‘Last Night In Soho,’ ‘Competencia Oficial’ & ‘Scenes From A Marriage’ Venice Film Festival Premiere Red Carpet Roundup

Adria Arjona in Armani Prive Venice Film Festival

Here is a roundup from Saturday’s Venice Film Festival premieres for ‘Last Night In Soho,’ ‘Competencia Oficial,’ and ‘Scenes From A Marriage.’

Adria Arjona stood out wearing an Armani Prive Fall 2014 strapless dress which was giving us plenty of drama on account of the colour and the feathered bolero.

Tiffany & Co. jewels completed her stunning look.

Adria would’ve instantly recognised Levante’s off-the-shoulder Armani Prive Fall 2019 polka dot gown, as Adria wore this same look on her last red carpet appearance back in December 2019.

Eugenia Silva in Armani Prive Venice Film Festival

Eugenia Silva and Armani Prive have a long, fruitful history.  Her latest dress from the Spring 2020 collection served up her signature marriage of elegance and drama.

Sarah Gadon in Armani Prive Venice Film Festival

Even with all those sparkling embellishments, there is an air of understated elegance oozing from Sarah Gadon’s Armani gown.

Some might not like that this colour being so close to her skin-tone, but the red lip prevents her from appearing washed out.

Matilde Gioli

If you looked at Matilde Gioli in this Armani Prive Fall 2017 dress and wished that the Italian actress had kept the sleeves, you are not alone.

The sleeves gave this dress it’s Haute Couture-ness.

Ester Exposito in Atelier Versace Venice Film Festival

Spanish actress Ester Exposito stood out wearing a custom Atelier Versace green tulle gown beaded in classic Barocco Versace print which she styled with Bvlgari jewels.

I admire the workmanship.  This gown took over 1900 to complete.  But my first thought was this would’ve sat better during the summer Cannes Film Festival.

I’m all for each to their own style-wise, and as you know I adore colour, but I think the reason this really stood out is because it wasn’t quite in tune with the muted mood of this festival.

Thoughts?

Barbara Palvin in Armani Prive Venice Film Festival

Barbara Palvin redeemed herself from the night before wearing this Armani Prive Spring 2011 dress.  This futuristic collection was one of my favourites from the Italian designer.

My only wish for this look was styled with better shoes and that her hair pulled back into a tight bun.

Esther Acebo Armani Venice Film Festival

Spanish actress Esther Acebo wore a beautifully embroidered Giorgio Armani Fall 2021 gown, but I wasn’t a fan of the hair and makeup.

Alice Pagani Armani Venice Film Festival

Italian actress Alice Pagani served up her usual brand of sultry gothic elegance wearing an Armani embellished gown with Bvlgari jewels.

Madisin Rian Armani Prive Venice Film Festival

The Armani Prive Fall 2010 collection was another one of my favourites as the collection was full of warm tones of caramel, chocolate, beige and tan.  Madisin Rian was a vision wearing this embellished form-fitting dress.

I much prefer this over the previous night.

Beatrice Bruschi Armani Venice Film Festival

Of all the Armani dresses we have seen at this event – and there have been many – I can’t say Beatrice Bruschi’s is my favourite.

She’s not really selling the look. And I’m slightly bothered by the bow on the bodice.

Greta Ferro Armani Venice Film Festival

Greta Ferro wore yet another stunning Armani gown.  I love the 20s Gatsby vibe of it all, but I wish the makeup wasn’t so ghostly.

Maude Apatow’s Armani Prive Spring 2008 Venice Film Festival

Between the colours and the ruffles, how could you not fall in love with Maude Apatow’s Armani Prive Spring 2008 gown?

Victoria Magrath Armani Venice Film Festival

On the runway this Giorgio Armani Spring 2021 look felt a lot more intriguing thanks to the harness.

But Victoria Magrath’s styling was a lot more practical.  So I can’t fault her for that.
