Lil Nas X Wore Andrea Grossi & Richard Quinn To The 2021 BET Awards

Usually during awards shows if a celebrity wears more than one look, it’s one for the red carpet, one for the performance and one for collecting their award.

Lil Nas X rocked two on the red carpet for the 2021 BET Awards on Sunday (June 27).

The first was a dramatic toile print gown from the Italian graduate designer Andrea Grossi.

This ensemble from the designer’s debut collection explored themes and prints around Catholicism – the same theme that Lil Nas X touched on his latest single ‘Montero (Call Me By Your Name).’

There was a lot going on with this gender-fluid look which featured a larger-than-life bustled skirt, a zippered corset, suspenders and a matching jacket, but if anyone can pull it off, it’s Lil Nas X.

The rapper re-appeared on the carpet wearing suit from Richard Quinn’s Fall 2021 collection.

From the flared trousers, crystal embellishments, baroque-style florals, and the ode to Sir Elton John, this was by far my favourite of the two looks.

The first had a more significant meaning, but I can’t say I was all that enamoured by the construction, whereas this look is impeccable.

Sparkling studs, his signature diamond grills, and I’m guessing, platform boots completed his looks.
