Elodie Wore Atelier Versace, Giambattista Valli Haute Couture & Oscar de la Renta For Sanremo 2021

Elodie Wore Atelier Versace For Sanremo 2021

The Sanremo Music Festival 2021, a television song contest, runs from 2 and 6 March in Italy.

Elodie, who was your Best Dressed of 2020, hosted the event wearing a series of mostly Haute Couture looks, and it appears that red was the colour of the night.

As you know I love just about anything created by Atelier Versace, but I wasn’t immediately sold on the double straps.

The way they are shaped here, it looks to me like she’s wearing a bra under her dress.

I also wasn’t too enamored by the outline of the cups, but it looks like the design was intended to be an elevated version of a bias-cut dress so they molded the cups and fashioned a trompe l’oeil cowl-neckline for a new perspective which I now find totally fascinating.

When I see the back, the double straps at the front make a lot more sense with the trompe l’oeil drape continuing at the back.

So my degrees of emotion when seeing this on stage, from the front and then the back were, hmm. OK. YESSS.

Another red look hails from the Giambattista Valli Fall 2020 Haute Couture collection.

In classic Valli style, this look features layer upon layer of tulle. I’m not sure it will be to everyone’s taste, but it was a fun interlude on the night.

The memes on twitter likened this look to a bath lily did make me laugh.

Sticking with red Giambattista Valli Haute Couture dresses, this one hails from the Fall 2019 collection.

Exemplifying the label’s Haute Couture prowess, the silhouette was also the focal point of this look, as the whimsical ruffles were not only romantic, but prominent in keep the profile contemporary.

You may remember that Lupita Nyong’o wore this same dress in Beyonce’s ‘Black Is King’ visual album.

Bvlgari jewels completed her look.

In what was her fourth and only none red look of the night, the singer performed in Oscar de la Renta Fall 2020.

This nude corseted dress with platinum fringed overlay isn’t what we would call a typical Oscar de la Renta look, but it was perfect for her energetic performance.
