Kamala Harris Wore Pyer Moss For The COVID-19 Memorial Service

On the eve of Joe Biden’s inauguration, Vice President-elect Kamala Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff, joined President-elect Joe Biden and Dr Jill Biden in taking part in a solemn memorial dedicated to the more than 400,000 Americans who have died after contracting COVID-19.

Kamala’s speech paid tribute to the lives lost and called for the nation to begin healing together, while wearing a Pyer Moss camel coat, that much like Jill Biden’s look, also held significance.

Pyer Moss founder Kerby Jean-Raymond is not only known for his activism opposing racial injustice, but his efforts in the past year to support local businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the start of the pandemic, he converted his New York office into a donation centre and donated $5,000 for the purchase of masks and gloves. He also donated $50,000 for minority and women-owned small creative businesses that were distressed by COVID-19.

New York Times fashion editor Vanessa Friedman tweeted, “It’s not about fashion. It’s about values.”  Something a lot of people have felt has been lacking from the previous administration.

While her Vogue cover didn’t go down too well with the majority, this sees her back on track in the eyes of us fashion lovers.

Manolo Blahnik ‘Clotobeck’ knee high boots completed her look.
