Cult Fashion Item: Frankie Shop Eva T-Shirt

You may have thought (hoped) that padded shoulders were out of fashion, but the Frankie Shop Eva t-shirt has quickly became a cult item.
The impact of cult status can be as traumatic as it is initially thrilling.
Traumatic for those who search the web for the item, thrilling for those who managed to get one before it sells out.
Frankie Shop’s covetable creations are based on minimal, expertly-tailored, simple (but never boring) pieces.
We’ve seen just about every iteration of the classic simple t-shirt; but what makes this one so covetable is the slightly oversized, sleeveless silhouette complete with padded shoulders.
They can be tucked into a pair of high-waisted trousers/shorts or worn loosely to tap into the label’s pared-back aesthetic
The thing about cult items is, that they inspire dupes.
And in this case, there are many.

Starting at the higher end you have Reformation, who created the ‘Belfort’ t-shirt.

Zara T-Shirt With Shoulder Pads
Next we have the Mango shoulder pad-shirt, which is still in stock, unlike Zara’s versions in black and white which have been sold out for weeks.

At the lower end you have Nasty Gal’s version which comes only in black.
It seems that once lockdown is over, everyone will be wearing this t-shirt.Â
Me included, if I can get my hands on it.
