Billie Eilish For Vogue China June 2020

Billie Eilish For Vogue China June 2020

Billie Eilish graces the cover of Vogue China‘s June 2020 issue which was shot by fashion photographer Nick Knight.

The stylist –  Daniela Paudice – kept the look firmly on brand with a range of bee-keeper hats, oversized Burberry check shirts, Gucci suits and Moschino puffers.

Billie is incredibly talented and beautiful, but I would’ve liked to have seen something different style-wise.

That’s not to say I would’ve wanted to see her in a big puffy gown, or even a dress as that type of style isn’t her thing.

But I found myself a little underwhelmed by the lack of creativity in the styling department as we’ve seen this all before.

Something a little more fantastical would’ve been interesting.

Apparently this it was shot in LA after her appearance at the 2020 Grammy Awards – before the breakout of the pandemic – but I would not have been surprised if this was shot after the 2019 American Music Awards, because she is wearing an identical Burberry look.

If the theme was ‘Handmaid’s Tale,’ they nailed it.

Literally every country/region of the world has better Vogue covers than American Vogue, and I just don’t understand it, lol. I would just like the US to be a good at one positive thing, like just one :'(

Anyway, I LOVE the cover. Simple yet interesting, and still true to Billie’s aesthetic. And while I enjoy and somewhat champion her “F.U.” to “traditional” feminine glamour, I do wish for her to finds more varied ways to rebel. I feel like we’ve seen her in the same baggy top and bottom combo rendered in a million different fabrics.

Meh. I just dont get her aesthetic. I find it so ug.
I will say she gives great eye contact and has interesting poses going on.

I completely agree with you, I think they could have worked with her brand and style but still come up with something more, as you say, fantastical. I would have wanted to have my mind blown by a Vogue Billie Eilish feature.

BE Looks ridiculously great. I applaud her style and that she is keeping it that way. Not my taste for sure but I think she is a great individual. I’m sure there will be reinvention but obv not yet.

Personally, I don´t understand Billie´s style, all I always see on her is oversized clothes but there is no concept behind what she is showing us as an artist.
