Kelly Rowland Smolders In Her New ‘Coffee’ Music Video

Having finally come up for air this weekend, my first point of call was to check out the new music video; ‘Coffee’, which ends Kelly Rowland’s 6 year hiatus. I can’t believe it’s been that long.

The sultry track ‘Coffee’ is aptly titled because all the visuals were oozing with mocha latte, cappuccino and espresso melanin magic.

With regards to the video Kelly said, “I want to celebrate the women in video—every shade, every coffee colour, every curve, every essence and what they gave me.  My intention I set for the video was to take the light in yourself and your sexuality [and put it in] a God perspective, in a way where you don’t have to get any approval from anybody else.”

With lyrics like, “Coffee and s*x in the morning/Breakfast in bed, got me moaning/ Before you go to work/ I need you to go to work,” she certainly ain’t backwards about being forward.

The singer kicks things off with a white ‘Palm Springs’ bikini top and ‘Del Marcos’ bottom from White Fox which served to enhance that goddess glow.

Season 11 Project Runway star Samantha Black created the mocha hued, ‘Coffee’ emblazed t-shirt which looked like second skin.

I’m sure you clocked Mark Fast’s signature sensual knit fringe dress which Kelly wore when writhing around on the beach.

The final look was a totally sheer top and skirt from Romy Collection, which only enhanced with mood of the video with Kelly opting to go sans bra.

I’m very excited to see Kelly perform this track live.   Hopefully, she’ll opt for a bra if she decides to go sheer again.

The video was styled by Alexandra Mandelkorn, who also works with Janelle Monae, and KJ Moody.

Steven Gomillion served as the director of this 2:25 minute chocolate dripping video.
