Janina Gavankar Wore Azzi & Osta To ‘The Way Back’ LA Premiere

Janina Gavankar Wore Azzi & Osta To 'The Way Back' LA Premiere

Janina Gavankar joined co-star Ben Affleck on the red carpet for the premiere of Warner Bros Pictures’ ‘The Way Back,’ held at Regal LA Live on Sunday (March 1) in Los Angeles, California.

If you’re anything like me, you’ll have a lot of conflicting feelings about this.

My first thought about her Azzi & Osta Fall 2019 Couture off-white belted midi dress was that it was a little too bridal, but since I’m binge watching ‘Love Is Blind’ at present, and having seen the original look with the tulle train, I’ve decided to ignore my initial feelings.

I adore the tulip shaped sheer skirt, embellished with geometrical organza wave embroidery, and how the sculptural tulle bust is enriched with organza lilies.

It’s such a unique piece, and I’m glad she didn’t make things overly fussy, as the dress does all the talking.

Yes, my second reaction was, “why the black pumps?”

But considering how it ties in with the waistband, and the fact that it appears Janina and her stylist were doing their very best to ensure this look didn’t translate as a bridal dress, I will say that the black pumps actually was a very smart choice.

What do you think?

I like it. The proportions are ok and the details exquisite. She is gorgeous but I might have chosen a color A bright yellow shoe/belt rather than choosing black. But black is what the designer chose originally. I actually much prefer the slimmer black to the original white belt.

Above the belt, this is lovely. The belt is too harsh and the bottom is clunky. Nothing could make this not scream bridal. She should have just skipped this dress.

This feels really bottom-heavy to me. The look book photo shows a slightly sheer skirt, which I think helps give it that ethereal feeling. Maybe they could have made it shorter? IDK. I don’t like it.

Not working for me. This is such a pretty delicate white dress and the black pumps/belt look harsh and out of place. I’d much prefer it with a light shoe at some summer event/photocall at Cannes even at the risk of looking bridal or just keep the train and wear it to a wedding.
