Janelle Monáe Wore Balmain To The 2020 NAACP Image Awards

Janelle Monae proved that she knows that colours other than black and white exist when she stepped onto the red carpet at the 2020 NAACP Image Awards held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Saturday (February 22) in California.

What looks like a dress, is actually two pieces from the Spring 2020 collection of Balmain.

Would this long-sleeve, cut-out, ring-detailed swimsuit, paired with a dual-coloured draped skirt have had the same impact in black and white?

I don’t think so.

I’m drawn to the orange and gold which sparked a fiery sensation making this one of my favourites looks to take to this red carpet, especially considering she didn’t over accessorize or add any gimmicks.

Alexis Bittar rhodium necklaces (one in her beautiful braided updo and three on neck), along with silver earrings completed this gorgeous look.
