Taylor Swift was the surprise guest at the NME Awards 2020 held at O2 Academy Brixton in London on Wednesday (February 12).
The singer, who has sold more singles than any other artist in the US within the past decade, took home the NME Award for Best Solo Act in the World.
During her acceptance speech, the singer poked fun at winning her second NME Award, which is shaped like a middle finger. “It’s amazing to have a matching set. I’m honored,”
Taylor is known for her bubblegum style, which may not have cut it at this event, so I’m glad she opted for something different in this Monse blazer and short set from the Resort 2020 collection.
As you would expect from Monse, the blazer isn’t your traditional blazer, with half comprising of a pinstriped blazer and the other half a white shirt.
The suit is a distinctly modern set. But Taylor loses me with the styling.
I could’ve given the Gianvito Rossi white lace-up ankle boots a pass, had it not been for the white cross-body Jimmy Choo ‘Madeline’ bag.
The accessories undo all the good work of the outfit for me, with the end result being a rebellious school girl outfit.
A signature red lipstick provided the finishing touch.
