Shakira Wore Custom Dundas For Her Super Bowl LIV Performance

Shakira Wore Custom Dundas For Her Super Bowl LIV Performance

Following an Instagram post by Nicolas Bru, I knew that we were in for a something super sexy, and electrifying for Shakira’s Super bowl LIV half-time show costume-wise on Sunday (February 2) in Miami.

If anyone was going to create costumes with plenty of Latin flavour, sex appeal, and hips shaking enhancing flare, it was Peter Dundas, who has created costumes for the likes of Beyonce and Rita Ora.

Shakira’s first custom red Dundas look was a two in one.

Starting out as a cropped bustier with cross straps, and a removable corset that reveals a fringed skirt, it transformed into a Deco embellished bustier top with front panel paired with a bugle bead fringed mini skirt with Swarovski crystals, feathers and stud trimming.

Both looks are paired with leather cuffs with crystal embellishment and knee high wedge boots made by Dan Life.

All elements of the looks had been entirely crystallized in dark reds, with a total of nearly 2,000,000 fire red Siam Swarovski crystals in Art Deco motifs.

For the final set, Shakira changed into a custom Dundas bomber jacket with gold paillette embroidery featuring a Dundas designed Shakira monogram alongside a Dundas panther motif, all in gold and white Swarovski crystals.

Worn under the bomber is a gold crop top in matching gold paillette featuring an “S” monogram.

This is paired with matching high waisted hot pants featuring a Deco fringed gold bead hem and gold jersey socks with Adidas Superstar sneakers customized by Dundas with Swarovski gold crystals, celebrating the undeniable convergence of sports, fashion and music.
