  3. Guest December 16, 2019 at 9:15 am #

Elle Fanning had a fantastic run at Cannes this year. Just saying. 🙂

    • Guest December 16, 2019 at 9:24 am #

Also, is everyone forgetting Billy Porter’s tuxedo dress at the Oscars?

  4. Catarina_M December 13, 2019 at 9:28 am #

Helen Mirren in Badgley Mischka for the ‘Catherine The Great’ LA Premiere and Henry Golding in Tom Ford for The 2019 Fragrance Foundation Awards, for me.

  5. Guest December 13, 2019 at 1:59 am #

Well that was hard. So many amazing looks to choose from.

  6. Guest December 12, 2019 at 9:43 pm #

i went with Elle Fanning, Cannes Dior, the hat made it a truly special moment. my runner up was not a red carpet moment but would’ve been Katie Holmes in that blue Gabriela Hearst suit, so very chic.

Timothee in Haider undoubtedly for the men.

  7. Guest December 12, 2019 at 9:34 pm #

I actually went with Zendaya in orange Carolina Herrera mini – one doesn’t need a big, flashy gown to look perfect.

  8. Guest December 11, 2019 at 6:00 pm #

my votes are: timothee chalamet in Louis Vuitton @ golden globes and sofia carson In Giambattista Valli @ unicef gala.

  9. Guest December 11, 2019 at 2:33 am #

I may still make some changes, but I think I have my menswear list ready for now, with #1 and #2 being undeniable, and 3 to 6 solid on the list.

1.Timothée Chalamet in Haider Ackermann – BAFTAs
2.Ezra Miller in Burberry – MET Gala
3.Mena Massoud in Givenchy coat look – “Aladdin” Paris screening
4.Stephan James in Ralph Lauren Purple Label – Golden Globe Awards
5.Mahershala Ali in Dzojchen – HBO’s ‘True Detective’ Season 3 premiere
6.Asher Angel in Joshua Kane – ‘Shazam!’ LA Premiere
    7.Chris Evans in Salvatore Ferragamo
8.Nicholas Hoult in Dior Men Oscars
9.Charlie Heaton in Dior Men ‘Velvet Buzzsaw’ LA Premiere
10.Bill Skarsgård in Burberry ‘It Chapter Two’ LA Premiere

  10. Jess Mara December 11, 2019 at 12:44 am #

Another hard year to pick a winner, especially after I added a few more to my list in October.
Angelina Jolie in Ralph and Russo gets my BDOTY but for the men I am torn between Timothee Chalamet in Haider Ackermann (Baftas) and Ezra Miller in Burberry (MET gala). Think it will have to be Timothee for his year in total.

  11. Guest December 11, 2019 at 12:35 am #

Kim Kardashian West in Mugler at the Met Gala will go down in history! A personal fave! Thanks for all the coverage this year Catherine!

    • Kat December 11, 2019 at 11:42 am #

I liked that look as well. Might be the only time I’ve liked a KK look ever – but she nailed the theme, and looked like a gorgeous cartoon heroine. Credit where it’s due

    • Red Carpet Fashion Awards December 23, 2019 at 8:02 pm #

      My pleasure

    • Red Carpet Fashion Awards December 23, 2019 at 8:03 pm #

      great idea x

  12. Guest December 10, 2019 at 6:04 pm #

Can’t wait to see what everyone picks. Naomi Scott in this Brandon Maxwell was one of my favourites

  13. Guest December 10, 2019 at 2:47 pm #

I vote for a new generation of stylish and risk taker girls inspired by the past but incorporating current trends and adding a dose of emotion and drama giving us memorable fashion moments in 2019: Elle Fanning in Valentino (Cannes), Lady Gaga in Valentino (Golden Globes), Kiki Layne in Gucci (LACMA), Sofia Carson in Giambattista Valli (Billboard) and Gemma Chan in Valentino (Oscars). I also admired Cate and Tilda, they gave us memorable looks) but it’s time to “pass the torch” to a new generation of fashionistas.

    • Kat December 11, 2019 at 11:44 am #

Great choices. I’d forgotten Kiki’s LACMA Gucci! Thanks for sharing

    • Guest December 11, 2019 at 6:06 pm #

Great choices but red carpet looks only? I would include street style looks also. Ref: Sofia Carson in blue belted Carolina Herrera and Katie Holmes in her cashmere ensamble

Oh, I absolutely loved that Guan Xiaotong Atelier Versace look!! It’s one of my favourite looks of year too. But I didn’t think it got covered on here for some reason so I can’t vote for it. ?

Hardest working recipient title for Catherine- so true.?

    • Red Carpet Fashion Awards December 23, 2019 at 8:10 pm #

      Thank you… I really appreciate this x

  15. Guest December 10, 2019 at 9:44 am #

    Suggestion:

I think this type of posts would help us greatly to remember what we liked during the year if they included a collage of the pictures with some of the best red carpet looks (maybe some that were voted best dressed of the week and such).

My mind is blank right now and can’t remember much…A recap would be nice!

    • Guest December 10, 2019 at 10:41 am #

If you click on Menu, then Features and then Best Dressed of The Week you can see the BDOTW polls from the year.
Suggestion – for future, could you tag ‘Best Of’ in post for polls for ‘who was your best dressed polls’ for awards shows and festivals etc.
I understand that you’re busy, just it helps when going over past looks that didn’t make it into the BDOTW polls.

    • Guest December 10, 2019 at 1:48 pm #

Yep, I agree with that too. Not all best dressed looks won BDOTW so even though I do have some in mind, I’m afraid I have forgotten just as many, so I’m not even sure if my top best dressed includes everyone I’d like 🙁

    • Kat December 10, 2019 at 8:40 pm #

I start a new BDOTY Pinterest board each year, and i pin my fave looks as they occur. Won’t be much help to you this year, but if you do a 2020 one, it will be easier for you this time next year

    • Jess Mara December 11, 2019 at 12:33 am #

      I do exactly the same!!!

    • Red Carpet Fashion Awards December 12, 2019 at 10:28 pm #

I would love to do that, but there are so many images that come to mind, and also I don’t want to influence anyone.

The best thing to do is go over the best dressed dressed list

      https://www.redcarpet-fashionawards.com/category/blog-features/best-dressed-of-the-week/

    • Guest December 13, 2019 at 12:12 am #

I keep a doc with links to the post for every look I think is a BDOTY possibility and then go back and look over the looks and eliminate some, keep some, etc. This year, I have only 12 looks so it was pretty easy. Not useful for you for this year but it is something to consider for 2020. I do the same thing for BDOTY. Sadly this year, I have 41 of those.

    • Guest December 13, 2019 at 7:01 pm #

      The same.

  16. Guest December 9, 2019 at 11:35 pm #

I voted for Angelina Jolie in Ralph & Russo at the London Premiere of Malificent: Mistress of Evil. It was a tough choice. I have only 12 looks for women (10 for the men) from the year as worthy of BDOTY and I struggled with the one I voted for versus three others (Elle Fanning at the Maleficent world Premiere, Janelle Monae at the Met Gala, and Madisin Rian at the Venice Film Festival). For men, I went with Bill Skarsgaard in Burberry at the It Chapter 2 Los Angeles premiere. That was another tough one with Ezra Miller at the Met Gala, Hero Fiennes-Tiffin at the After Madrid premiere, and Henry Golding at the 2019 Fragrance Foundation Awards.

  17. Phee phee December 9, 2019 at 9:45 pm #

Elle Fanning in Gucci – Cannes Day 1
Ezra Miller in Burberry – Met Gala

    • Red Carpet Fashion Awards December 9, 2019 at 11:06 pm #

      two great looks.

  18. Guest December 9, 2019 at 9:17 pm #

I voted for Cate Blanchett in Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2019 Haute Couture gown and for Timothee Chalamet in Haider Ackermann Spring 2020

    • Red Carpet Fashion Awards December 9, 2019 at 11:08 pm #

      great choices

  19. Guest December 9, 2019 at 8:45 pm #

There were so many iconic fashion moments of 2019.

I’m scared some may have been forgotten

    Gwendoline in iris van herpsen

    • Red Carpet Fashion Awards December 9, 2019 at 11:09 pm #

You’re right.. And Gwendoline Christie has more than one great Iris van Herpen Couture moments

    • Guest December 11, 2019 at 8:54 am #

I’m gonna go with Iris van Herpen too.
But on Anok Yai at BoF 500 Gala.

      Love both

  21. Guest December 9, 2019 at 4:08 pm #

most important moment of the year, along with best dressed of the decade too

  22. Guest December 9, 2019 at 2:16 pm #

Hey guys, don’t forget to check the fabulous purple Christian Siriano Purple dress worn by Lucy Liu before voting! XoXo

    • Red Carpet Fashion Awards December 9, 2019 at 11:10 pm #

      Mmmm.. yes

  23. Guest December 9, 2019 at 4:49 am #

Yay! I can’t believe..somehow feels so unexpected 🙂 I haven’t even decided yet…but right away on the spot, the two most memorable looks actually came from men for me – it’s Timothee Chalamet in Haider Ackermann (Baftas) and Ezra Miller in Burberry (MET gala).
I have to think about the ladies. There were some nice looks (Elle Fanning did great, some others…) but no undeniable runaway winner imo I have to decide on #1 still..

    • Red Carpet Fashion Awards December 9, 2019 at 11:07 pm #

I’m going to start my list early this year. Last year I left it for the final day, and I changed my mind 100 times.

    • Guest December 10, 2019 at 5:51 am #

I’m “stuck” this year lol although my heart instantly went to Elle Fanning in Armani Prive at The ‘Maleficent: Mistress of Evil’ London Premiere, that look left me breathless – it was mesmerizing and magical. And also Emily Blunt in Michael Kors Collection (SAG awards) was outstanding… I entered a vote for each. Still working on the list..

  24. Guest December 8, 2019 at 10:35 pm #

It’s always fun seeing the lists and the comparing with others Top 10

    • Guest December 9, 2019 at 3:05 am #

      There are others?!!?????

    • Kat December 9, 2019 at 9:13 am #

I could be wrong, but I think TeaAtTwo means: comparing FCs top 10s, the popular-vote top 10s, and the personal top 10s that a few of us post in the comments

    • Guest December 9, 2019 at 7:19 pm #

I’m glad someone understood what I meant.

    • Kat December 9, 2019 at 9:20 pm #

I love comparing the top 10s!

I was trying to remember who submitted some of my favourite top 10s in recent years, but it’s been tricky (looking back) as:
      1) reader’s usernames disappeared (with the change to the new login system), so everyone is listed at “Guest”, and
      2) classic usernames were adopted by newcomers (I used to be Malvern, then MalvernRose – but others took both)

I can remember you (TeaAtTwo), CreoleLady, and a few others have incredible top 10s. (Sorry to any ppl I’ve forgotten – it’s morning here is Australia, and I haven’t had my coffee yet)

I’m super excited to see ppl’s lists this year

    • Red Carpet Fashion Awards December 9, 2019 at 11:06 pm #

Always my favourite time of the year too.

    • Jess Mara December 11, 2019 at 12:34 am #

best time of the year when Catherine does her end of year polls.

  25. Guest December 8, 2019 at 10:33 pm #

UK folks – forget the general election, this is more fun.
