Voting for my favorites was easy, i just had to vote for Angela Sarafyan for everything good. But voting for the least favorite was so stressful, how can i pick between:

Sonam Kapoor at The HT Most Stylish Awards
Halle Berry at NAACP Image Awards
Kate Beckinsale at GQ Men of the Year Awards
Maggie Gyllenhaal at the Golden Globes
Bryce Dallas Howard at the ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ in Madrid, Spain.
    Everything Chloe Grace Moretz wore
    and so many others.

Also, I’m sad that i forgot about Eiza Gonzalez for most underrated.

  9. Mauimermaid December 14, 2018 at 2:24 am #

I’m a bit confused by your international star category. Does that mean not American? It looks like it means outside of US, Canada, UK and Aus – it couldn’t be that – that would be awful and patronising. Can you please clarify.

    • Catherine Kallon December 14, 2018 at 7:29 am #

      Yes. It does mean that.

Please explain how that is patronising?

That is like saying the NAACP Image Awards are patronising.

      • Mauimermaid December 14, 2018 at 11:42 am #

These women are hugely successful in their craft and have been able to amass fortunes from their trade as well as having a huge amount of respect and popularity. To compare your category to the NAACP Image Awards is spurious.

        • Catherine Kallon December 14, 2018 at 11:45 am #

You have totally missed my point about the NAACP Image Awards.

I have had this blog for 10 years, and I have put out this poll for at least 5. This is the first time anyone has complained about this category.

I know we live in a time when people are looking for a reason to be offended by anything, but this poll, and this category only seeks to celebrate women.

Happy Holidays, and have a great weekend.

          • bee December 14, 2018 at 2:05 pm #

A while ago I looked at your posts from around 2007 and I noticed how different they were – you were able to make a good joke for example and people would enjoy it without looking for a reason to be offended. Now one needs to be careful all the time since every innocent word may be considered offensive, what even happened to the world. That’s just sad.

        • Catherine Kallon December 14, 2018 at 11:51 am #

Just to go back to this point quickly…

          Can I ask?

Is it patronising when the music awards shows have a category for Best International artist?

Or at the Academy Awards when they have a category for Best Foreign Language Film?

    Red Carpet Couturier 2018: VALENTINO!!

  11. Real Nat39 December 14, 2018 at 1:35 am #

A lot to think about..but Chadwick Boseman for the Promo Tour Star, and Black Panther for Best Cast.

    • Real Nat39 December 14, 2018 at 2:41 am #

Best Newcomer – Letitia Wright or Stephan James, who produced a row of sharp dapper looks with some standout elements, like colour, (not all of them have been featured..), he made my BDMOTY list.

Best Dressed International Star – Aishwarya Rai for her beautiful and inspiring Cannes run.

Best Dressed Entertainer – Janelle Monae. Can’t say I’m a big fan of her style in general, but she is consistently trying to do something standout and totally looks inspired in her style, and she did make my BDOTY list for her Christian Siriano look at Oscars after-party.

Most Consistent – probably Cate Blanchett.

  12. JHH December 14, 2018 at 1:16 am #

I have questions. Are we supposed to vote in the categories based on the pictures provided or based on the totality of the looks that the person presented over the year? For most consistent is most consistently good or the person who is most consistent in his or her style?

    • Catherine Kallon December 14, 2018 at 7:30 am #

Voting is based on the whole year. The pictures are just a reference or a reminder of a look.

      • JHH December 14, 2018 at 6:52 pm #

        Thank you.

  13. Alexandra December 14, 2018 at 1:02 am #

I had so much fun doing this! Catherine, thank you for another brilliant year of red carpet coverage. I can’t wait for awards season and all the red carpet action in 2019.

    • Catherine Kallon December 14, 2018 at 7:31 am #

My pleasure Thanks for your support and comments. x

      Bring on Awards season indeed.

  14. Kat December 14, 2018 at 12:07 am #

I think best promo tour should have a male & female winner. I had to go Chadwick Boseman Black Panther but I would have chosen either Lupita or Blake as female winners.

    • Real Nat39 December 14, 2018 at 1:45 am #

I don’t think there is a need to separate…Chadwick won fair and square 🙂 hehe !
But if I were to choose someone for the ladies I’d go with Lady Gaga, she took it by storm, big and unexpected.

  15. Chris December 13, 2018 at 11:40 pm #
