Jasmine Trinca In Prada – Sulla Mia Pelle (On My Skin) Venice Film Festival Photocall & Screening

Jasmine Trinca In Prada - Sulla Mia Pelle (On My Skin) Venice Film Festival Photocall & Screening

Jasmine Trinca was attending Venice Film Festival to promote her latest film, ‘Sulla Mia Pelle (On My Skin)’ today (August 29) in Venice, Italy, and she opted to make it a Prada double.

Photocall: Miuccia Prada decided to dip into her extensive archives for the Resort 2019 collection and celebrate some of her most legendary looks. The revere collar shirt made its debut in the Spring 2012 collection which was themed by rockabilly fashion and Americana. This updated version arrives in shell – a Prada signature – and is licked at the hem with furious flames consuming a black and white dahlia flower print. This isn’t about recycling, but revelling in iconography and she fabulously nailed the look.

Screening: I was less enthused by Jasmine’s second offering. This look steps back one year further into the archives of the Spring 2011 collection. Everyone from celebs to fashion editors and influencers couldn’t get enough of the Prada banana print. Even I have one of the skirts, which I’m excited to dig out of the back of my wardrobe and wear again. But the problem I have with this look is the top half. The fit is way off, and the unnecessary belt isn’t helping.

Those were two of my favorite Prada collections–the hotrods/flames and the Baker/bananas–and these seem like sad re-adaptations. Miuccia, don’t diminish your own legacy!

    Hate both.

Why are the trousers bunching like that?

The shirt look is cool, I want the shirt for bowling. The skirt I like more for nostalgic reason than the current presentation.

    Nope to all of it.

Love the first look, easy breezy and fun. Agree with your critique of the second, that belt is baffling and she could’ve gone a size down and paired with a better shoe.
