Chanel’s Mademoiselle Privé Exhibition Opening

The CHANEL ‘Mademoiselle Privé’ exhibition opening event was held in Hong Kong on Thursday (January 11), with some of the brand’s biggest fans wearing their chicest CHANEL looks.

Pharrell Williams: The CHANEL ambassador and face of the ‘Gabrielle’ bag performed during the event. But, before taking to the stage, he was on the red carpet with wife, Helen Lasichanh, donning a dark-blue knitted pullover styled with a blue cap—both from the Métiers d’Art Paris-Hambourg 2017/18 collection. As can be expected with a Pharrell look, it was really his styling that brought even more personality. The ripped jeans being the rebellious twist, with CHANEL boots and accessories including a CHANEL Fine Jewelry ‘Plume’ brooch rounding out the look with plenty of flair.

Helen Lasichanh: Coordinating with her rapper hubby, Helen wore a dark-navy knitted mini dress from the Métiers d’Art Paris-Hambourg 2017/18 collection. She styled the super-short look with necessary tonal tights and CHANEL tall boots alongside a white CHANEL handbag and CHANEL Fine Jewelry ‘Coco Crush’ earrings.

Kaia Gerber: The perfect combination of sweet innocence and sultry sass, this short white Spring 2018 dress was the embodiment of girly allure. I love the modern juxtaposition between the ruffled lace and the sleek, embroidered sequins. CHANEL clear boots added a quirky, style-forward finish to the look.

Soojoo Park: A study in classic black-and-white was the M.O. for the American-Korean model. Yet her frilly white blouse and black leather skirt from the Spring 2018 collection went far beyond traditional territory with a turn towards edgier appeal. CHANEL two-tone pumps, handbag, and accessories brought back that classic, ladylike aesthetic.

Alma Jodorowsky: Although she’s a CHANEL Ambassador, Alma opted for a less adventurous look, riffing on a classic tweed dress with this blue and green version from the Spring 2018 collection. CHANEL accessories, including a matching green bag, and nude-and-black pumps completed the look. However, I wondered why not opt for a matching green or blue shoe, too.

Ann Hsu: The Taiwanese actress kept it soft and subtle—until her CHANEL vivid-orange platforms came into view for a jolt of colour and attitude. Still, I liked the more delicate charm of this tweedy, white and light-pink short jumpsuit from the Spring 2018 Act 1 Ready-to-Wear collection. CHANEL Fine Jewelry ‘Coco Crush’ rings, a ‘Boyfriend’ watch, and ‘Coco Crush’ earrings rounded out the look.
