The stars came out for the Harper’s Bazaar Celebrates Icons by Carine Roitfeld event held at The Plaza Hotel in New York City on September 5.
Lily Aldridge: Wearing a red velvet pantsuit from Emilio Pucci’s Fall 2014 collection with an orange, v-neck blouse, Lily shows us mortals how models do fashion. The mix of textures and bright color-blocking are oh-so-chic, while the simple gold accessories and Lily’s barely there makeup and slightly tousled hair complete the ‘models-do-it-better’ effect.
Crystal Renn: Taking a very different approach to the event, Crystal Renn is all about the drama in a gray satin mermaid-shaped Zac Posen gown with matching cape and striking Lorraine Schwartz jewels. To complete the high-fashion, high-drama look, Crystal’s bold brows, deep plum lips and pinned back retro-inspired hair are a stark contrast with her lack of eye makeup.
Hilary Rhoda: The model wore an elegant, boho-inspired beaded gown from Emilio Pucci’s Fall 2014 collection. The belted styling and subtle print kept things casually grounded, along with her simple chignon and fresh skin.
Nicki Minaj: Never one to enter a room subtly, the singer wore a burgundy Marc Jacobs dress accented with studded detailing and nude platform pumps. Her long, sleek hair and bronzed eyes and cheeks help deliver that Nicki attitude we’ve come to expect.
Toni Garrn: The model wore a black and cobalt color-blocked Juan Carlos Obando dress that showed off her enviable figure with a daring, low-cut V-neck and leg slit. She paired the eye-catching dress with black strapped Giuseppe Zanotti shoes and box clutch, Jacquie Aiche earrings and rings and AS29 rings. Long, loose, pushed back hair, nude lips and barely-there makeup complete the look.
Candice Swanepoel: The Victoria’s Secret Angel metallic silver Kaufmanfranco gown styled with a brown belt and turquoise jewelry. While I’m really not feeling the boho-styling of the dress, Candice’s makeup and hair look flawless, as usual.
Carine Roitfeld: The woman of the hour wore a geometric, patchwork-inspired Alexandre Vauthier Fall 2014 Couture gown that shows exactly why she is an icon in the fashion world. Her signature smokey eye and messy waves complete the look.
Karolina Kurkova: A white satin The Row suit over a black bralette, worn with a gold Versace clutch, Tom Ford shoes and delicate Pamela Love and Anna Shefield jewels are all it takes for Karolina to have a stunning red carpet moment. voluminous curls, kohl-lined eyes and a matte red lip complete the killer look.
Alessandra Ambrosio: Taking the word sexy to a whole new level, Alessandra wore an intricately beaded and stitched black gown that shows us exactly why only certain women get to be ‘Angels’. Glowing skin, a bright red lip and stunning emerald and diamond earrings continue the ultra-glam moment created by the gown.
Kendall Jenner: The reality star and up-and-coming model wore an ivory satin Octavio Carlin gown with a knotted sash and train detailing. A simple chignon, smokey eye and deep red lips are classic and elegant.
