Get The Look: Bella Thorne’s Waves and Braids

Bella Thorne

Bella Thorne’s laidback outfit on the red carpet of the DigiFest LA may have been casual, but her pretty strands were holiday party worthy. The look is perfect for any festivity; the wispy waves add glamour in the front and the deconstructed braids are sure to grab everyone’s attention. Not to mention, those bangs that perfectly framed Bella’s face.

LA based hairstylist, Cesar Ramirez, says the key to getting the voluminous waves is to create volume from the roots. Before adding heat, he prepped her locks with the Alterna Caviar Style Prep.

Instead of turning to a curling iron, the waves were created by using a flat iron. Make sure to opt for one with large ceramic plates, which ensures even heat distribution throughout each strand. Cesar chose the Harry Josh Pro Tools Ceramic Styling Iron to style the tousled strands.

Creating the braids is surprisingly easier than it looks. Grab a section from the left side and begin French braiding. Ramirez said, “The trick is to drop off a piece of the braid after each criss-cross while making your way over to the opposite side.”

Once you’ve made it across, French braid the right side, this time adding the dropped strands in with the second braid.  Ensure your braids and waves stay in place with hairpins and Alterna Caviar Working Spray.

Don’t stress if the braids slightly unravel throughout the night. Softness is key to this look and deconstruction only helps.
