3.1 Phillip Lim for Target Launch Event
The 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target collection doesn’t hit stores until September 15, with prices ranging from $19.99 to $299.99 for apparel and $19.99 to $59.99 for accessories, so just to further whet our appetites, the designer hosted a party to celebrate the collaboration at Spring Studios in New York City yesterday evening, inviting along some of his loyal celebrity fans.
Jessica Alba: The actress wore the ‘Boom’ print sweatshirt ($29.99) – which I predict will be one of the pieces many people will be hoping to get their hands on – which was inspired by the designer’s ‘Ka-Pow’ sweater from the Pre-Fall 2012 collection. Jessica styled her sweater with two-tone black-and-blue tuxedo pants ($39.99) and a 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target bag which was inspired by the ‘Pashli’ bag, with red Christian Louboutin ‘Decollete 554’ pumps completing her laidback I-want-every-piece look.
Maria Sharapova: The tennis star wore a colour-block look, opting for a navy-and-green pullover ($34.99) with a navy banded skirt ($29.99), adding her own touch via her white Nicholas Kirkwood gold-and-white resin hexagon accented pumps from the designer’s HEX collection.
Solange Knowles: Also working a high-low mix, the singer worked a navy-and-black tuxedo ($59.99) with, of course, a colourful animal-printed skirt ($29.99). Givenchy sandals and a Fendi clutch accessorized her look, with an additional pop of colour coming from her vivid red lip shade.
