Melissa George In Schiaparelli Couture – Derby Day

On Saturday (November 4) Melissa George was at the Kennedy Marquee on Derby Day held at Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne, Australia.

The actress is a regular in the front row of Schiaparelli Paris Fashion Week shows, so I wasn’t surprised to see her wearing a look from the brands Fall 2017 Couture collection.

I was, however, thrown by the styling, as it feels like there’s one thing too much going on here.

I like the hat – it was Derby Day after all – but I think the bag and perhaps the lace gloves were a tad overkill.

Thoughts?

Jennifer Hawkins In Alex Perry – Emirates Melbourne Cup Day

Jennifer Hawkins joined Paris Jackson at the Emirates Melbourne Cup Day on Tuesday (November 7) in Melbourne, Australia.

The Australian model had a real princess moment in Alex Perry Resort 2018. The full ballet pink skirt was toughened up with a black sheer top with corset under layer.

Black strappy sandals and a dark clutch played up the sultry allure of the top.

A black and pale pink floral headband was the cohesive finishing touch which elevated the ensemble to fairy tale status.

Paris Jackson In Morrison – Emirates Melbourne Cup Day

Paris Jackson attended the Emirates Melbourne Cup Day on Tuesday (November 7) in Melbourne, Australia.

The model has been favoring a bohemian edge during her last few red carpet appearances and this continued with this Morrison dress. The muted red colour combined with the sheer frill details had an easy elegance.

The brown ankle boots, multiple pieces of jewellery and Ann Shoebridge headpiece played up the effortless vibe. Some might crave fewer accessories, but I think the jewellery presented a cohesive finish. I also loved the modernity of the headpiece compared to the typical fascinator.

What do you think of the ensemble?

Shanina Shaik In Dion Lee – Melbourne Cup Carnival Media Preview Day

Shanina Shaik was back home for Melbourne Cup Carnival Media Preview Day at Flemington Racecourse earlier today (November 2) in Australia.

The model supported local designer Dion Lee by wearing a striking look from his Resort 2018 collection.

While the event required a hat, I don’t think the Millinery Jill one she selected was the right choice for this frock.

A sculptural fascinator would’ve been a more dynamic choice methinks.

Erin Holland In Pallas Couture – Dally M Awards

The Dally M Awards are the official annual player awards for the National Rugby League competition, which took place at The Star in Sydney, Australia this evening (September 27) .

While this is about the fellas, it was the ladies who took centre stage; Erin Holland most predominately.

The singer was the first to arrive and set the bar high in an embellished, all-white Pallas Couture custom gown featuring a plunging neckline, open back and split sleeves.

This is one of those moments where I can’t decide whether I love the dress, or the way Erin is selling the look to me.

I’m going to go with I love the way she’s selling it to me, but would’ve loved the gown more without the central slit.

I love the picture below. It’s like she’s saying, “it’s my world and you’re just living it in.”

Jesinta Franklin In Christopher Esber – The House of Dior: Seventy Years of Haute Couture Media Preview

Model and David Jones ambassador Jesinta Franklin, posed among the many dresses on display during a media preview of ‘The House of Dior: Seventy Years of Haute Couture’ exhibition earlier today (August 25) in Melbourne, Australia.

Opting for a trans-seasonal look, she was radiating contemporary glamour in her maroon off-the-shoulder, slit sleeve top and high-waisted skirt combo from Christopher Esber’s Fall 2017 collection.

I wouldn’t ordinarily have put maroon and white together, but the double row of artisanal resin buttons help tie the look together effortlessly bringing about a charming aura.

The exhibition is open to the public from August 27 to November 7, 2017, featuring a sumptuous display of more than 140 breathtaking, handcrafted haute couture garments including Miranda Kerr’s custom-made Christian Dior Haute Couture wedding dress.
