Ella Balinska Wore Antonio Marras To The 2025 ARIA Awards
Ella Balinska attended the 2025 ARIA Awards, Australia’s biggest night in music. Think of it as their Grammys: loud fashion, big performances, and a lot more room to take risks than your typical film-industry carpet. The event was held today at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion.

I’ve always admired Ella’s style. She’s one of those women whose height, presence, and natural elegance usually turn even a simple look into something memorable. Which is why I let out an “ooh” when I saw her on this red carpet — and, sadly, it wasn’t the good kind.
She wore a custom Antonio Marras ensemble inspired by Look 44 from the Fall 2024 runway: a black leather off-shoulder moto vest layered over a white sleeveless poplin blouse, paired with matching leather trousers. And while I appreciate the intent — the ARIAs are absolutely the place to lean into music-edge styling — the execution didn’t quite come together.
The runway version had a stronger narrative and a clearer sense of proportion. Ella’s custom look feels caught between ideas. The off-the-shoulder vest sits awkwardly, almost suspended rather than styled. The white shirt beneath adds a strange formality, creating the unintentional effect of someone who threw leather over a uniform after finishing a shift. And the trousers, with their exposed zips and shape, lean early ’90s in a way that feels dated rather than nostalgic.
Ella is statuesque, striking, and capable of carrying much bolder ideas — but the design needed sharper intention to meet her halfway. Nothing feels cohesive here, and for someone with as much sartorial potential as Ella, this just doesn’t rise to her usual standard.
Stylist: Jason Rembert.
