Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Lily Collins was in Paris this weekend to attend the Paris premiere of her new movie ‘Mirror Mirror’, held at Gaumont Capucines in France.

The actress opted to wear a Zac Posen Pre-Fall 2012 gown.

Her forest-green floral-print jacquard strapless gown featuring a corset-style bustier and a fishtail train is way too much for her to handle.

The girl is practically drowning in fabric.

This gown needed height and a more mature woman to pull it off.

For me, Lily looks like a young girl playing dress up in Mum’s closet.

The ‘Princess’ styling of this promo tour has grown tiresome very quickly. I would’ve saved this gown for someone like Christine Baranski, Viola Davis, Rachel Weisz or Julianna Margulies.

With such a dramatic looking dress, Lily kept the jewels to a minimum by just adding Cartier earrings.

Tousled waves which tumbled down her shoulders and a dark berry lip colour completed the look.

David and Samantha Cameron are currently in the US on a three-day visit, so of course they caught up with the Obamas.

It’s always a magic moment for me when Samantha Cameron and Michelle Obama meet as they dress to impress without trying to upstage each other.

Earlier today at the official welcoming ceremony at the White House in Washington, DC, both ladies wore looks from their respective countries.

Samantha wore a Roksanda Ilincic tri-colour half-sleeve dress with an Emilia Wickstead navy belt and LK Bennett blue suede pumps.

Michelle complemented the PM’s wife by wearing a Zac Posen light-blue dress with a matching jacket for the occasion.

I love her silver pumps, they remind me of a pair I have been eyeing up in Zara.

Both women look amazing, but without bias, I’m going to give this fashion face-off to Sam Cam.

Her look feels fresher and less ‘ladies-who-lunch’ in comparison to Mrs O.

Glenn Close gave many young starlets a run for their money on the red carpet at the 2012 Oscars, held in LA this evening.

She wore a Zac Posen Fall 2012 gown which was recently presented during New York Fashion Week.

Her forest green strapless gown with floral embroidered details was teamed with a matching blazer with wide satin lapels.

In the battle of the over 60s, Glenn wins over Meryl.

A Judith Leiber clutch and Bulgari jewels completed her look.

There are two things you can always expect from a Zac Posen show: Coco Rocha will open and close and we will be treated to high-octane, glamorous looks.

Even though E! were broadcasting their Grammy’s ‘Live from the Red Carpet’ show at the same time, there was no way I was going to miss Zac Posen’s Fall 2012 presentation with the Oscars just around the corner.

I made the right decision because there were many breathtaking demi-couture gowns with an Asian-inspired twist.

Impeccably cut skirt suits, cocktail dresses, body-conscious dresses and mermaid gowns in satin, silk, jacquard and brocade were so fitted that the models had to take tiny steps to prevent themselves from toppling over.

Geisha makeup and sleek updos with spiky crests added to the drama, as the designer took us on a romantic journey of old-Hollywood glamour.

Aside from the jaw-dropping gowns, the designer presented some daywear pieces including pant suits, silk ensembles accented with a colourful obi belt, luxe coats, chiffon blouses paired with fitted fishtail skirts, and fur capes.

Amber Heard hit the red carpet again this weekend, this time for the 2012 SAG Awards.

The blonde beauty wore a Zac Posen Pre-Fall 2012 black gown.

In true Amber style, the dress was far from simple as it had many cut-outs on the shoulders and at the waist.

She styled her hair into an elegant updo with copper eye shadow and a nude lip colour.

H. Stern jewels accessorized her look.

Elle Macpherson opted for two similar style gowns for the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday.

She started off at the main event wearing a white Zac Posen gown with a Kotur clutch.

I found this gown to be overly fussy, from the details on the bodice to the frou-frou tulle skirt.

I prefer the gold strapless Roberto Cavalli gown she wore to the NBC Universal party.

This gown is more streamlined and less fussy despite the similarities.

Which gown did you prefer?
