‘Avengers: Infinity War’ LA Premiere Menswear Roundup

At the ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ LA premiere on Monday (April 23), the men scored as many fashion points as the ladies. The gents joined Zoe SaldanaKaren Gillan, Brie Larson and Letitia Wright.

Tom Holland: The ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ actor punctuated a Joshua Kane suit with a merlot sweater poking above the buttoned jacket. The suit itself was an interesting style with the multiple buttons and unique fabric that merged blue, gray and green. Christian Louboutin Top Daviol shoes added the finishing touch.

Sebastian Stan: Tom’s costar went for a darker look in Givenchy. Traditional in colour but not in fabrication, the sleek one-button style was constructed out of a pinstripe fabric with subtle sheen. The monochromatic satin lapels and cotton shirt give the outfit an interesting tactile quality.

Chadwick Boseman: Celebrating his love of fashion, the ‘Black Panther’ star was clad in a Prada bottiglia green kid mohair suit with a denim blue and burgundy bicolor popeline shirt. I love his joyful mix of colours. He never disappoints. Christian Louboutin Ajmone boots completed his look.

Sasha Lane In Valentino – ‘Miseducation of Cameron Post’ Tribeca Film Festival Premiere

Sasha Lane was another Tribeca Film Festival attendee. She showed up at the ‘Miseducation of Cameron Post’ premiere on Sunday (April 22).

The more I see the actress on the red carpet, the more intrigued I am thanks to her cool-girl demeanor and ability to carry off unique silhouettes in an insouciant manner.

For her latest appearance, she wore a Valentino Pre-Fall 2018 dress.

This isn’t the first look I would think of from the designer with the graphic stripes adding a punky edge to the balloon silhouette, but I think it’s in her wheelhouse.

It’s fashion-forward, mixes unexpected references and has pockets for an effortless touch.

Pedro Garcia ‘Ana’ ankle booties contributed to the edgy mood without overcooking the look.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead In Valentino – ‘All About Nina’ Tribeca Film Festival Premiere

The Tribeca Film Festival saw many stars in attendance including Tessa Thompson, Karen GillanLily James and Lea Seydoux. Mary Elizabeth Winstead stepped out at the ‘All About Nina’ premiere on Sunday (April 22) in New York City.

The actress embraced Valentino’s signature shade in a ruffled gown from the Pre-Fall 2018 collection.

It had a waterfall of ruffles on the skirt but the detail wasn’t overwhelming thanks to the placement and the scale of the frills.

Combined with the sheer polka dot fabric, the ensemble has a girlish charm.

Gold accessories including a Jimmy Choo Cloud clutch and Jenny Bird earrings played off the rich red.

Karen Gillan In Valentino – ‘The Party’s Just Beginning’ Tribeca Film Festival Premiere

Karen Gillan was back on the red carpet at ‘The Party’s Just Beginning’ premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on Sunday (April 22) in New York City.

One could definitely call this Valentino gown a party frock. The tulle fabric sprinkled with white splotches takes on a fairy tale starry sky quality.

I foresee the slashes across the bodice as the divisive detail that will either kill the look or have people swept away.

I appreciate the idea of trying to work a graphic, sexy element into the whimsical style, but don’t think the finish is as strong as it could have been.

The black bodice feels too stark against the more muted tulle and the ratio of skin to fabric feels off. Had there been some modifications, it could have been an arresting look.

Thoughts?

Alba Rohrwacher In Valentino – ‘Daughter of Mine’ Tribeca Film Festival Premiere

Alba Rohrwacher was at the ‘Daughter of Mine’ Tribeca Film Festival premiere on Friday (April 20) in New York City.

The Italian actress generally favours tailored, sartorial elegance, so this Valentino Fall 2018 aubergine outfit and shoes were right within her wheelhouse.

However, I was particularly intrigued by its ode to a certain avant-garde spirit with the exaggerated cape sleeves that ensured the monochromatic look was far from one-note.

She finished the ensemble with a Delfina Delettrez ‘Face To Me’ hand bracelet as well as a red lip to add a slick of vibrancy.

This slightly unkempt updo is a go-to for Alba, but I think the look could have also stood with a sleeker option.
