2015 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards Menswear Roundup

2015 Critics' Choice Movie Awards Menswear Roundup

Here’s a quick roundup of the men who took to the red carpet for the 2015 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards held at the Hollywood Palladium on Thursday (January 15) in Los Angeles, California.

Eddie Redmayne: Giving just that little bit extra, which always sees him standing above his peers, the actor opted for a sharp Valentino shawl-collar tuxedo in his favoured slim-fit silhouette.

Jared Leto: Following the Globes, I was worried he had lost his mojo, but here he’s bursting with flavour. Standing out wearing a bright blue Costume National blazer accented with a pink carnation, you have to admire his courage in always doing something different. Thankfully opting for black trousers instead of going full blue, he did match his blazer to his sock with an extra kick coming from his Swarovski-embellished Louis Leeman loafers. On this occasion he swapped his man-braid for a man-bun.

Ethan Hawke: Yet to wear a black suit this awards season, the ‘Boyhood’ actor also stood out, donning a Lanvin light grey suit with black velvet piping. These top three will most definitely keep menswear interesting this awards season.

Rosamund Pike In Valentino Couture – 2015 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards

Rosamund Pike In Valentino Couture - 2015 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards

Rosamund Pike attended the 2015 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards held at the Hollywood Palladium on Thursday (January 15) in Los Angeles, California.

Many of you regarded her Vera Wang Golden Globes gown as the worst of the night, so how does this Valentino Haute Couture dress from the Sala Bianca 945 collection fare?

I would say this ivory high-neck gown with its ethereal embroidered sheer skirt is much more in tune with her sweet-natured style, with an intelligent balance of elegance and whimsy.

Keeping the styling minimal, she opted for a simple bun and Jimmy Choo ‘Minny’ sandals.

Brittany Snow attended the 2015 InStyle and Warner Bros. 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards Post-Party held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday (January 11) in Beverly Hills, California.

The actress served up some uber girliness wearing a Valentino moss-green sheer Fall 2014 dress, sans collar, featuring colourful floral sequin embellishments, which spark a delightful decorative aura.

Metallic Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals and an Edie Parker clutch completed her dainty look.

Claire Danes In Valentino – 2015 Golden Globe Awards

Claire Danes In Valentino - 2015 Golden Globe Awards

Claire Danes attended the 2015 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 11) in Beverly Hills, California.

Never one to shy away from a sartorial challenge, the Homeland star chose a textured Valentino gown from the fashion house’s Spring 2015 collection.

As a fan of Claire and Valentino, this is a look that I genuinely want to like. Unfortunately, this dress is more runway appropriate than red carpet ready. Though Claire is one of the few actress who can pull off such an intricate gown, a lot of the detail is lost on camera. Translation? As beautiful as it is, this Valentino dress looks more like a frock inspired by Little House on the Prairie.

And while we’re nitpicking, those blue Lorraine Schwartz earrings look awfully similar to the red Lorraine Schwartz earrings Claire sported at the 2014 Emmys. Nevertheless, the earrings perfectly accessorized the printed gown; however nixing the single bracelet would’ve streamlined this overall look.

Jaime King In Valentino - 2015 Art Of Elysium HEAVEN Gala

Jaime King attended The Art of Elysium 8th Annual HEAVEN Gala held at Hangar 8 on Saturday (January 10) in Santa Monica, California.

The actress kicked off 2015 wearing one of her favourite designers: Valentino, with the Spring 2015 light blue gown portraying elegance charm.

I just love flowing silhouette that creates an airy, ethereal impression.

Styled with gold drop earrings and a white Valentino studded clutch, this is yet another stunning look from the beautiful actress.

Audi and W Magazine's Golden Globe Parties

Audi and W Magazine hosted parties to celebrate the Golden Globes on Thursday (January 9), with celebs party-hopping between the two events held at Cecconi’s Restaurant and the Chateau Marmont respectively.

Dita Von Teese: The burlesque star was at the W Magazine party decked out in signature black, working a classic Le Smoking tuxedo dress.

Joanne Froggatt: The ‘Downton Abbey’ actress opted for a lighter summery look at the Audi party, wearing an aqua-blue raffia Ermanno Scervino Spring 2015 crop top and skirt styled with silver accessories including Stuart Weitzman sandals and a Jill Milan clutch.

Salma Hayek: At the W Magazine party the Latin actress wore head-to-toe Alexander McQueen, with her fit-and-flare frock spliced with a red pattern that mimicked the brand’s signature corset belt.
