Nicole Kidman In Valentino – ‘The Killing Of A Sacred Deer’ Toronto Film Festival Premiere

Nicole Kidman has been experimenting with looks ranging from romantic to classic on red carpets of late. At ‘The Killing Of A Sacred Deer’ Toronto Film Festival premiere on Saturday (September 9), she opted for a maximalist approach.

She donned a Valentino Resort 2018 maxi gown which complemented her statuesque beauty.

The heavily-detailed dress was tempered by simple hair, soft pink lipstick and Chloe Gosselin ‘Narcissus’ sandals.

Some might wish that Nicole wore her hair up to fully reveal the details on the bodice, but I thought the effortless waves worked with the dress’s bohemian flair.

Selena Gomez In Valentino Couture – Harper’s BAZAAR Celebrates ‘ICONS By Carine Roitfeld’

Selena Gomez joined Nicki Minaj for Harper’s BAZAAR Celebrates ‘ICONS By Carine Roitfeld’ on Friday (September 8) in New York City.

Unlike Nicki, Selena channeled the charms of minimalism in a Valentino Fall 2017 Couture ballet-pink sheath dress.

This look would have been nothing had it not been for the bolder styling, so I have to give it to her for bringing the look alive.

The cherry-red Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals and Kelly-green Coach clutch brought a cool, modern spin to the simplicity of the dress.

Perhaps she was extending that mod vibe to her hair, but it came across rather maturely than a sleeker ’do would have.

Bee Shaffer In Valentino – The Franca Sozzani Award

Bee Shaffer was also among the long list of noted guests at the inaugural Franca Sozzani Award, held on Friday (September 1) during the Venice Film Festival.

Attending the event with her dapperly clad fiancé Francesco Carrozzini, Bee subscribed to a breezier, more casual aesthetic for the evening.

Naturally, she made very elegant the undeniable prairie-boho spirit of this Valentino Resort 2017 dress. Much of that more refined vibe came via her styling, what with her precious jewels and silver accessories.

But, I still couldn’t help wishing for a more dazzling gown to stand alongside that aubergine tux.

Julianne Moore In Louis Vuitton & Valentino Couture – ‘Suburbicon’ Venice Film Festival Photocall & Premiere

Julianne Moore joined George Clooney and Matt Damon for the ‘Suburbicon’ photocall and premiere, which took place during the 74th Annual Venice Film Festival today (September 2).

Photocall: Judging from her previous look, whimsy was the red carpet M.O. for Julianne during the photocalls for this festival. Her Louis Vutton Resort 2018 dress featuring a Kabuki-inspired embroidery added a fun, characterful element to her look. I would’ve loved a lighter sandal here.

Premiere: I have desperately been trying to find something to love about this Valentino Fall 2017 Couture look, but I failed. Yes, even with shimmering eyelash fringing and emerald Chopard jewels that complemented her layered crop, the look fell a little flat. I’m disappointed because I expected a bit more for this event. Looking at this, the best analogy I can give you to describe this look is – driving with the handbrake on.

The Franca Sozzani Award

Many more celebrities paid tribute to Franca Sozzani at a ceremony held on a windy night during Venice Film Festival, from which Julianne Moore collected an award.

Karolina Kurkova: While I adore the model when she presents a more fashion forward aesthetic, this Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini pretty pink ruffle gown is as romantic as it is heavenly.

Isabeli Fontana: The model has proved to be quite the muse for Alberta Ferretti, wearing her 4th frock of this festival. While the elements weren’t too kind to her split front magenta gown, she carried herself with great dignity. I’m drawn to both the colour and construction of this stunning gown.

Julianne Moore In Prada & Valentino – Venice Film Festival & The Franca Sozzani Award

Julianne Moore arrived in Venice alongside George Clooney, who directs her latest film, ‘Suburbicon’, before receiving the inaugural Franca Sozzani Award, founded as a tribute to the late Vogue Italia editor-in-chief.

Venice Film Festival Arrival: The actress adopted a whimsical mood while wearing a Prada orgzana sleeveless Resort 2018 dress with a fluffy trim feathers for textured drama. I love how the quirky shades also add a fun twist. Julianne always seems at home during European festivals.

The Franca Sozzani Award: It may have been a wet and windy night, but Julianne created her own storm on the red carpet wearing a volcanic lava-red Valentino Fall 2017 gown styled with a heart-shaped clutch and Chopard jewels. I love the contrasting pretty floral pink underlay which engages a romantic mood. She certainly brought her A-game to Venice.
