Sofia Coppola In Valentino - 'A Fistful of Dollars' Cannes Film Festival Screening & Closing Ceremony

Sofia Coppola attended the Closing Ceremony and ‘A Fistful of Dollars’ screening during the 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival this evening (May 24) in Cannes, France.

The filmmaker wore a custom Valentino navy gown made interesting with the cut-out detail on the shoulder and the heart shaped rubies necklace with pear-cut diamonds set on 18-karat white gold courtesy of Chopard.

While Sofia’s too-cool-to-make-a-fuss-style was evident throughout this festival, I wish she had stepped out of her comfort-zone just once.

If Olivia Palermo can come to Cannes and wear an animal print Cavalli gown, then Sofia could’ve worn just one look other than black or navy.

Clotilde Courau In Valentino - ‘The Search’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Clotilde Courau attended ‘The Search’ premiere during the 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival this evening (May 21) in Cannes, France.

The actress wore a Valentino gold lace Pre-Fall 2014 gown with a plunging neckline, which you may remember seeing on Naomie Harris at the NAACP Image Awards back in February.

Before yesterday, one of my rules at Cannes was “no repeats”, but I will now add, “unless you can do better”.

While I don’t think Clotilde’s pendant necklace and sleek back hairstyle is going one better, it does give us variation on a look I thought was pretty one-dimensional.

Celine Sallette In Valentino - 'Two Days, One Night' ('Deux Jours, Une Nuit') Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Celine Sallette attended the ‘Geronimo’ premiere during the 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival this evening (May 20) in Cannes, France.

The French actress wore a super-fine pale-blush tulle Valentino Resort 2014 gown, with delicate yellow, green and pink beading making this a truly special piece.

The attention to detail is exquisite, even heavenly.

If I had to nit-pick, I wish she hadn’t worn the platform heels so that her gown would have been able to graze the carpet.

I’m so glad I can finally mark this off my red carpet wish list.

Riley Keough In Valentino - 'Foxcatcher' Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Riley Keough attended the ‘Foxcatcher’ premiere during the 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival this evening (May 19) in Cannes, France.

The actress opted out of wearing a gown, selecting a Valentino Fall 2014 look instead.

Her look consisted of an unbuttoned white blouse paired with a high-waisted skirt featuring the metallic jacquard floral and butterfly print we’ve seen on Shailene Woodley and Blake Lively.

While gowns are considered a prerequisite before stepping onto a red carpet at Cannes, I have to say I like this – I like it a lot.

Riley was never going to play by the rules, as she always marches to the beat of her own drum stylewise.

It didn’t hurt to inject a bit of cool and a touch of attitude into proceedings, especially when the look was so well styled with embellished Miu Miu pumps and dual-colour green and lavender de Grisogono earrings.

Mia Wasikowska In Valentino - 'Maps To The Stars' Cannes Film Festival Photocall

Mia Wasikowska made her first appearance during Cannes Film Festival for the ‘Maps To The Stars’ photocall this morning (May 19) in Cannes, France.

Wearing a summery look from a Fall 2014 collection, the Australian actress wore a Valentino dress which consisted of a cream top with a lightly pleated bib and a grey and green striped pleated midi skirt.

Between the crisp pleats and the cream blouse, I adore the ultra-feminine finesse of this look.

The jury is out on the Valentino suede platform pumps, but they don’t harm the overall feel of her outfit.

Lea Michele In Valentino - Late Show with David Letterman

Lea Michele was spotted headed to the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City on Thursday (May 15) for a guest appearance on the ‘Late Show with David Letterman’, which will air in the US this evening.

The actress wore a Valentino red lace dress with a black overlay, featuring a pointy collar, which we are seeing time and time again on the red carpet.

Of all the recent Valentino dresses we’ve seen on the red carpet, this is my least favourite. It has none of the charm of Emma Stone’s Valentino red dress we saw earlier this month, plus the styling here is pretty lacklustre.
