‘Youth’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere Red Carpet Roundup

youth cannes film festival premiere red carpet round up

Here is a roundup of the other attendees at the premiere of ‘Youth’ during the 68th annual Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday (May 20) in Cannes, France.

Chanel Iman: I’m not surprised that Chanel served up one of the few Cannes-worthy gowns from this group. The model is forever in Cannes mode with her love of pretty princess gowns. She’s clearly in her element here wearing Donna Karan Atelier – despite the long face.

Joan Smalls: The model made her first appearance on the red carpet at Cannes wearing an Alaïa white two-piece breezy look. While this is more Independent Spirit Awards than Cannes, I can’t deny how gorgeous she looks.

Alicia Vikander In Louis Vuitton – ‘Sicario’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Alicia Vikander In Louis Vuitton - ‘Sicario’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Alicia Vikander attended the premiere of ‘Sicario’ during the 68th annual Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday (May 19) in Cannes, France.

As one of the ambassadors for Louis Vuitton, I was not surprised to see the Swedish actress donning a look from their Resort 2016 collection.

‘Resort 2016? Already?’ I hear you cry.

Well, considering nearly every piece from the Fall 2014 collection onwards has been worn, Resort is all that’s left which is fresh and new. And that is exactly what Alicia is bringing to the table.

The look is chic and modern, while making a quiet impact on this busy red carpet.

Rachel Weisz In Louis Vuitton – ‘The Lobster’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Rachel Weisz In Louis Vuitton - 'The Lobster' Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Rachel Weisz joined Léa Seydoux for the premiere of ‘The Lobster’ during the 68th annual Cannes Film Festival this evening (May 15) in Cannes, France.

Continuing her sleek showing at the photocall earlier today, Rachel wore an immaculate white Louis Vuitton custom gown inspired by the Fall 2015 collection.

This look sees her yet again step up her high-fashion allure, proving that her play-it-safe days are truly behind her.

I’m really enjoying this new spring in her step.

Adèle Exarchopoulos In Louis Vuitton – ‘Irrational Man’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Adèle Exarchopoulos In Louis Vuitton - 'Irrational Man' Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Adèle Exarchopoulos attended the ‘Irrational Man’ premiere during the 68th annual Cannes Film Festival on Friday (May 15) in Cannes, France.

The French actress wore a Louis Vuitton gown which, judging from its brocade fabric and lace appliqué, hails from the Fall 2015 collection.

I love how this floor-length number is both sensual and elegant, while still maintaining Adèle’s cool-girl edge.

It would’ve made an even greater impact had she opted to stand and pose on the red carpet.

Cannes Film Festival Menswear Roundup

Cannes Film Festival Menswear Roundup
It was hard to remove my gaze from the breathtaking gowns at on the first day, Wednesday (May 13), of the 2015 Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, France, but a handful of menswear looks were worthy of mention.

Xavier Dolan: The French-Canadian actor cut a striking profile in his blue Louis Vuitton double-breasted suit paired with a black-and-white chequered sweater. It’s a perfect look for the Jury photocall, as it projects a coolly suave edge without even trying. You may remember that the suit was previously worn by Michiel Huisman.

John Legend: Attending the opening ceremony and premiere of ‘La Tete Haute,’ the singer couldn’t have looked more handsome in his traditional black Gucci tuxedo, making a solid argument for the power of a classic tux worn in superior fashion.

Jake Gyllenhaal: The actor was also at the opening ceremony and premiere and likewise catching plenty of stares for being well-dressed in a dark Tom Ford tuxedo and bow tie, even if I also like to see him in blues to bring out his steely stare.

‘La Tete Haute’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere & Opening Ceremony Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a quick round-up of some of the other models who attended the opening ceremony and premiere of ‘La Tete Haute’ (‘Standing Tall’) during the 2015 Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday (May 13) in Cannes, France.

Doutzen Kroes: Versace were on fire tonight as Doutzen also looked breath-taking wearing a white gown from the Atelier Versace Spring 2015 collection, spliced with cut-outs to enhance the sex appeal.

Liya Kebede: Yep, it’s Louis Vuitton, again. While she rocks the hell out of this metallic silver mini, but like Jennifer Connelly, I’m dying for her to give LV a break and do something new.

Aymeline Valade: The model wore an Ulyana Sergeenko Fall 2014 Couture light-blue satin midi dress with a Yelets lace top. I think I would’ve preferred this without the exaggerated hips.

That brings things to a close. Who would you like to see in the best dressed of the day poll?

Catherine Deneuve In Louis Vuitton – ‘La Tete Haute (‘Standing Tall’) Cannes Film Festival Photocall

Catherine Deneuve In Louis Vuitton - 'La Tete Haute ('Standing Tall') Cannes Film Festival Photocall

Catherine Deneuve attended the ‘La Tete Haute (‘Standing Tall’) photocall during the 2015 Cannes Film Festival on today (May 13) in Cannes, France.

Like her co-star Sara Forestier, Catherine opted for a French brand, wearing a look from Louis Vuitton, for whom she is a key ambassador.

The Resort 2015 look has been modified to be more ‘user-friendly’ for the legendary actress allowing her to present a chic and age-appropriate appearance for this event.

I’m looking forward to seeing what Nicolas Ghesquière has created for Catherine for tonight’s premiere.

Louis Vuitton Resort 2016 Front Row

Louis Vuitton Resort 2016

The Louis Vuitton Resort 2016 show was held at a futuristic private residence in Palm Springs, California on Wednesday (May 6), where a list of pretties sat front row to take in the out-of-this-world affair.

Michelle Williams: The star of Louis Vuitton’s handbag campaign, the actress rather ironically didn’t carry a clutch here. Instead, she paired her tousled platinum locks with a whimsically printed, scallop-edge frock from the fashion house, toughened up by black colour-blocked accents and patent booties.

Zhang Ziyi: Combining feminine charm with mod edge, the actress was alluring in a Louis Vuitton colourful cropped jacket, laced in bright pink flowers, worn with a geometric tee and black petal skirt. Mismatched earrings and a heavy-duty cuff provided another layer of interest to the look with her bright magenta lip polishing it off in youthfully fun style.

Selena Gomez
: Going the way of tough-girl chic, the singer-actress rocked a Louis Vuitton lace-embellished, black leather dress with those ubiquitous black LV booties and a smoky eye to further ensure the edgy spirit of the look.
