2014 People’s Choice Awards Menswear Roundup

2014 People’s Choice Awards Menswear RoundupKicking off the new year in trendsetting fashion, the 2014 People’s Choice Awards’ red carpet at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in California was ablaze last night (January 8) with PYTs and their handsome counterparts. Sure, the girls brought the trendy glam, but the guys showed off their own sartorial muscle, too.

Justin Timberlake: The entertainer, and three-time winner for Favourite Male Artist, R&B Artist and Album, balanced an armful of trophies while looking sharp in an all-black Tom Ford ensemble. That he went tieless and sported a bit of well-groomed scruff only contributed to the cool factor.

Ian Somerhalder: ‘The Vampire Diaries’ hottie scored the win for Favourite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Actor—and scored major style points with his Z Zegna navy blazer with button-down shirt and tie, which he handsomely dressed down with a pair of dark denim jeans, casual loafers and a touch of scruff. Of course, who was really looking at anything but those piercing baby blues.

Chris Colfer: The ‘Glee’ cutie showed off his Favourite Comedic TV Actor trophy in a Sand midnight-blue, velvet blazer paired with Citizens of Humanity ‘Blade’ tapered slim jeans, a white button-down shirt and black tie. Like Ian, he put a casual spin on his formal top half with dark denim jeans.

Best Dressed Of The Week – Rooney Mara In Lanvin & Bradley Cooper In Vivienne Westwood & Todd Snyder

Best Dressed Of The Week - Rooney Mara In Lanvin & Bradley Cooper In Vivienne Westwood & Todd Snyder

For the second week in a row, we picked the same best dressed.

As much as I was longing to give this win to Anna Kendrick, Rooney Mara’s Lanvin white sculptural gown was breathtaking: the only look to give me goosebumps this week.

Bradley Cooper’s Vivienne Westwood Man/Todd Snyder rugged sexy grey winter look stood out for me even though blue seemed to be the menswear trend of last week.

Amy Adams In Lanvin – ‘Her’ LA Premiere

Amy Adams In Lanvin - 'Her' LA Premiere

Amy Adams attended the ‘Her’ premiere alongside co-star Olivia Wilde held at DGA Theater on Thursday evening (December 12) in Los Angeles, California.

The actress opted for a contemporary interpretation of a classic Little Black Dress in this Lanvin frock.

She teamed this silk dress, which features an inverted pleated detail at the waist to give it a three-dimensional update, with statement accessories including a crystallized waistband, pale-blue Valentino embellished clutch, David Yurman jewels and black satin Christian Louboutin embroidered pumps.

I’m sure some of you will agree that the accessories make the look.

Rooney Mara In Lanvin – Oxfam Charity Gala

Rooney Mara In Lanvin - Oxfam Charity Gala

Rooney Mara attended the Oxfam Charity Gala during day six of the 10th Annual Dubai International Film Festival, held at the Armani Hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates this evening.

The actress has a strict colour preference: black or white.

Now I’m the first to wish she would side step out of this comfort-zone, but she looked breath-taking wearing a custom Lanvin one-shoulder gown inspired by the Resort 2014 collection.

The streamline gown, with a slight flared hem, features a sculptural layered neckline of architectural brilliance we expect from Alber Elbaz.

Working the deepest berry lip shade we’ve seen yet, she completed her look with a signature slick back bun.

This is one of my favourite looks from Rooney. This gown is going play havoc on my BDOTY list.

Zoe Saldana In Lanvin – Niche Media Party

Zoe Saldana In Lanvin - Niche Media Party

Zoe Saldana hosted the Niche Media Party on Friday during Art Basel in Miami Beach, Florida.

With temperatures hitting the high 70s in Miami, Zoe wore her Lanvin Resort 2014 white, unstructured silk blazer Sonny Crockett style by pushing up the sleeves.

Matching high-waist silk tapered pants and a pretty white camisole top made up the rest of her Miami chic look with the actress not going head-to-toe in white, selecting pewter Christian Louboutin ‘So Kate’ pumps.

Jamie Wolf yellow-gold 5 tier earrings and an EF Collection bangle complemented her look with a red pout and a chic bun providing the finishing touches.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Menswear 2 DecFrom movie premieres to the awards stage, the guys suited up over the past few days to hit the red carpet, impressing at every sartorial turn.

Orlando Bloom: Decked in a Lanvin Fall 2013 ensemble, Orlando attended ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’ Los Angeles premiere on Monday. Although his navy one-button tuxedo with black grosgrain shawl collar and white cotton dress shirt with French cuffs and antique silver cuff links were formal, his tie-less approach and black patent-leather, cap-toe sneakers kicked this look into more casual-cool territory.

Idris Elba: At the ‘Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom’ Paris premiere on Monday, Idris put his own spin on fifty shades of grey in a Dior Homme grey-checquered wool, notch-lapel two-button suit, paired with a black, cotton poplin shirt and a black silk tie. Grey loafers finished his outing; a nice departure from black.

Benedict Cumberbatch: The British actor strode out his dapper best at the ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’ Los Angeles premiere. His Dolce & Gabbana three-piece tuxedo featured a luxe, deep mahogany velvet blazer with contrasting shawl lapel, worn with a charcoal-grey vest and tux-stripe pants and a pert black bow tie.

Lupita Nyong’o In Lanvin – 23rd Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards

Lupita Nyong'o In Lanvin - 23rd Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards

Lupita Nyong’o attended the IFP’s 23rd Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards held at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City yesterday evening.

The actress was a vision of modern elegance, wearing a pretty Lanvin white strapless dress with a grosgrain bow detail from the Spring 2014 ‘Blanche’ Collection.

Kicking her black-pump habit into touch (for now), she donned Lanvin red silk-satin pumps with virgule stiletto heels, with a black-and-white-flecked python Lanvin ‘Sea Breeze’ minaudière with crystal detailing and Fred Leighton jewels accessorizing her look.

I can’t say I am crazy about the red and white together; I don’t think the red pumps really do much for the look as they disappear into the red carpet.

The black-cherry lip I do love.
