Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Anne Hathaway struck a pose with Joseph Gordon-Levitt at the after-party for ‘The Dark Knight Rises premiere at Freemasons Hall in London, England.

Dressed in a brocade J. Mendel dress from the Resort 2013 collection and custom vegan Casadei heels, Hathaway looks every bit the Hollywood icon we know her to be.

While the J. Mendel dress is feminine, its playful, semi-wrap dress silhouette and muted silver colors work well with Anne’s cropped hair. And I love the way her pointy, silver heels don’t detract from the simple beauty of her look.

With no other accessory necessary apart from a good red lip, I think this is a winning look and reflects Hathaway’s approach to red carpet appearances.

Do you love Hathaway’s look? Well, thanks to Moda Operandi you can snag Anne’s dress along with other pieces from J. Mendel’s Resort 2013 collection during the J. Mendel trunk show.

Head to ModaOperandi.com now until July 24th to shop the stunning looks from one of our favorite Resort lines, including my personal favourite — a floor length floral stunner with panels and a mermaid-esque finish.

With everything from lace to romantic, Renaissance inspired frocks, J. Mendel knows how to cater to a girl’s style desires.

“Anne Hathaway is the very definition of modern gamine chic in this dress. Just as the simple silhouette is offset by the intricate embroidery, Anne’s cropped hair gives her ethereal beauty a cool nonchalance. She’s perfection!” – Gilles Mendel

Kerry Washington posed for photographers on the red carpet at the discussion panel for ‘Django Unchained’ during Comic-Con 2012 on Saturday in San Diego, California.

The actress teamed an A.L.C. black leather button-down sleeveless shirt with a bold J. Mendel Resort 2013 floral-print high-waisted A-line skirt.

I adore that striking J. Mendel floral print, but the overall styling is quite bad by Kerry’s standards.

The leather top, which looks tight around the bust, was a bad idea as was the purple belt with the gold accent.

I also dislike the clunky footwear. What a difference an orange pair of Jimmy Choo ‘Lance’ sandals, Nicholas Kirkwoods or Christian Louboutin ‘Pigalles’ would have made.

Minimal jewels, a bouffant ponytail with side-swept bangs and a bold red lip colour completed her rather disappointing look.

Maria Sharapova took home the ‘Best Tennis Player’ at the 2012 ESPY Awards yesterday evening, which was held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live.

The tennis star, who recently won the French Open, wore a gorgeous J. Mendel Resort 2013 gown.

I love everything about this heron-blue silk-chiffon sleeveless pleated gown with its daring yet tasteful cut-out details and a thigh-high side slit which complemented her athletic frame.

Lara Bohnic jewels which included cuff and studded earrings accessorized her look.

A sweeping updo and Jimmy Choo ‘Falcon’ metallic sandals provided the finishing touches.

Maria tends to go for really edgy or ultra-girlie looks, so I find this elegant gown really refreshing.

All too often I’m reminded that she is an athlete by what she wears, but not on this occasion.

For me, this is the best she has ever looked.

Jenna Dewan-Tatum joined hubby Channing Tatum (in Armani) at The Mayfair Hotel in London yesterday evening for the ‘Magic Mike’ premiere.

The actress looked beautiful wearing a J. Mendel knee-length strapless cocktail dress with folded details.

There are no complaints about the rich winter hue; it was appropriate for our non-existent summer.

Apart from her hubby, she accessorized her look with Koomi earrings, nude Louboutins and a Le Vian ring.

Luscious wavy locks completed her look.

Elizabeth Banks continued to set the red carpet alight during the 2012 LA Film Festival this weekend where she attended the premiere of her latest movie, ‘People Like Us’.

She stunned wearing a J. Mendel Fall 2012.

Glistening in a mosaic jacquard dress with a plunging neckline, cut-outs at the shoulders and bodice, and a pleated full skirt, she swept her hair up into a modern updo.

Her flirty dress was styled with Giuseppe Zanotti sandals with gold metal accents, statement jewels and a black Lena Erziak ‘Emile’ clutch.

It’s a head-to-toe winning look. Long may this roll continue.
