Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Maria Sharapova took home the ‘Best Tennis Player’ at the 2012 ESPY Awards yesterday evening, which was held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live.

The tennis star, who recently won the French Open, wore a gorgeous J. Mendel Resort 2013 gown.

I love everything about this heron-blue silk-chiffon sleeveless pleated gown with its daring yet tasteful cut-out details and a thigh-high side slit which complemented her athletic frame.

Lara Bohnic jewels which included cuff and studded earrings accessorized her look.

A sweeping updo and Jimmy Choo ‘Falcon’ metallic sandals provided the finishing touches.

Maria tends to go for really edgy or ultra-girlie looks, so I find this elegant gown really refreshing.

All too often I’m reminded that she is an athlete by what she wears, but not on this occasion.

For me, this is the best she has ever looked.

Jenna Dewan-Tatum joined hubby Channing Tatum (in Armani) at The Mayfair Hotel in London yesterday evening for the ‘Magic Mike’ premiere.

The actress looked beautiful wearing a J. Mendel knee-length strapless cocktail dress with folded details.

There are no complaints about the rich winter hue; it was appropriate for our non-existent summer.

Apart from her hubby, she accessorized her look with Koomi earrings, nude Louboutins and a Le Vian ring.

Luscious wavy locks completed her look.

Elizabeth Banks continued to set the red carpet alight during the 2012 LA Film Festival this weekend where she attended the premiere of her latest movie, ‘People Like Us’.

She stunned wearing a J. Mendel Fall 2012.

Glistening in a mosaic jacquard dress with a plunging neckline, cut-outs at the shoulders and bodice, and a pleated full skirt, she swept her hair up into a modern updo.

Her flirty dress was styled with Giuseppe Zanotti sandals with gold metal accents, statement jewels and a black Lena Erziak ‘Emile’ clutch.

It’s a head-to-toe winning look. Long may this roll continue.

Ivanka Trump attended The Clarins Million Meals Concert Benefiting FEED Foundation at Alice Tully Hall in New York City yesterday evening.

The socialite wore a J. Mendel Spring 2012 dress.

I love everything about this dress from the colour-blocking to the part-sequins embellished and part-printed silk panels.

It’s colourful, summery and perfect for someone like Ivanka who appears to be trying to shake up her red-carpet looks of late.

With carefree naturally wavy tresses, Ivanka completed her look with gold jewels, a gold clutch and teal-blue sandals.

I knew the colour pop for the ‘Lawless’ photocall was temporary and that Mia Wasikowska would opt for a dark colour for this evening’s Cannes Film Festival premiere.

Wearing her cropped hair in a braided bun, the Australian actress glided gown the red carpet in a J. Mendel Fall 2012 gown.

Her plum textured v-necked gown with a gathered center and draped sleeves, without the cut-out, was simply styled with Chopard diamond jewels.

Normally I find it hard to warm to Mia’s red carpet style, but I love this gown on this occasion.

Malin Akerman showed her support for the World Childhood Foundation USA by attending their Gala Dinner on Tuesday in New York City.

The actress, who is sporting longer locks these days, looked beautiful wearing a J. Mendel Spring 2012 dress.

Her iris halter gown with a thigh-high split has embellished details around the neck and waist.

Chrissie Morris blue suede shoes, a black Nancy Gonzalez clutch and a Diane von Furstenberg by H. Stern ring completed her look.
