Best Dressed Award
It’s been a long while since I was wowed by Fergie, but the singer did just that at the AMAs last night.

The singer walked the red carpet wearing an Armani Privé Fall 2009 black gown with asymmetrical zipper detailing which leads to a dramatic front slit.

The gown sparkles with thousands of black triangular paillettes and is embellished with tiny Swarovski crystals.

Fergie’s gown is slightly modified from the runway as the neckline differs plus Fergie’s gown has straps.

Black Louboutin’s plus a bracelet, armlet and large ring complete this stunning look.

Best Mini Dress Award
Alicia Keys has been a longtime friend of Giorgio Armani, so it’s not a surprise to see the singer wearing one of his stunning designs.

Her modified Giorgio Armani Spring 2010 cobalt blue, jewel encrusted strapless dress had an origami pleated detail on the bust which is more dramatic than the runway version.

I’m loving the aqua marine shades of blue, and the cute Swarovski crystal embellished shorts she wore under her dress.

She picked a fun piece from this collection that truly embodied the spirit of the AMAs.

Most Dramatic Award
Whilst most below were picking out cute nude dresses, Rihanna opted for a dramatic black and white floral laser cut Marchesa Spring 2010 strapless gown.

I loved this gown and it needed a strong personality to pull it off, and Rihanna did in my opinion.

I will guess a lot of you will hate this look, but she gets a thumbs up from me even with those white shoes.

Nice Dress, Shame About The Hair Award
Shakira seems to be developing a healthy obsession with Versace, as this is her 3rd Versace red carpet look in a row.

This sexy Versace Spring 2010 ultra mini yellow dress with cut-out details was perfect for someone with tons of sex appeal like Shakira, but I couldn’t help but feel that they ran out of time to style her hair.

It felt a bit flat against her stunning dress which she paired with the Spring 2010 runway heels.

Looks Way Better On The Red Carpet Award
This Christian Cota Spring 2010 ivory dress could have gone oh so wrong on Kristen Bell had she worn it as it was presented on the runway.

She only pulled up the skirt a few inches and removed the chains, but it makes a world of difference.

Silver Christian Louboutin Archidisco T-strap sandals and a Judith Leiber clutch completed this cute look.

Inspired By Taylor Swift Award
Had Taylor Swift been at this event, this silver Talbot Runhof Spring 2010 mini dress is what we would’ve expected her to wear.

Selena Gomez is sparkling both via her dress and her winning smile wearing her dress with Rock & Republic’s “Romy” strappy sandals embellished with chain detail.

I’m really loving this look as Selena tends to dress way too mature and boring for her young age.

Toned Down Bling Award
Like Taylor, Carrie Underwood used to have an obsession with over embellished dresses.

On this occasion she looked beautiful wearing a metallic one-shouldered Theia dress paired with amazing gold strappy sandals.

Nude Award
From the nude make-up, to the nude dress and the nude Guiseppe Zanotti heels, Demi Lovato needed something to inject a bit of life into her look.

Luckily her Jenny Packham Spring 2010 dress has a jeweled detail on the neckline to stop this look from being so boring and totally washing her out.

Va Va Voom Award
No matter was Sofia Vergara wears she’s going to look sexy.

Even if she was wearing a bin liner.

Whilst most opted for Music Award standard mini dresses, Sofia wowed in a nude Emilio Pucci one-shoulder gown which no doubt would’ve had men going weak at the knees.

Kate Beckinsale Will Be Green With Envy Award
It seems that since Paula Abdul left ‘American Idol’ that she’s had a style transformation.

Gone are those tacky costumey dresses, and in comes this stunning strapless lace mermaid hem gown.

The gown was so grand she need 2 people to help her walk down the red carpet.

I can’t remember the last time she looked this amazing.

Out Of Place Award
I love the delicate lace details on Nicole Kidman’s Balenciaga one-shoulder gown.

The pink and grey colours are gorgeous on her, but she always looks so out of place at these music events.

Worst Dressed Award
As much as I should be loving Kelly Clarkson’s dress based on the amount of embellishments are covering her dress, it fails to flatter her.

Needs To Check Out Style.com Award
Can someone please introduce Leona Lewis to Style.com.

She needs to be made aware that there are other designers out there than just Vivienne Westwood.

Yes she makes great designs, but Leona is only picking pieces that look exactly the same and it’s getting incredibly boring now.

I’ll lose it if I have to refer to those clunky ankle boots and that corset belt, so I’m going to pass.

What’s Happening? Award
Keri Hilson used to be so interesting to watch on the red carpet, but her look has started to become boring and stale.

I hope she gets back to her best soon, because she can do better than a LBD.

One thing you can guarantee on the red carpet at a Latin ceremony is plenty of colour.

The ladies didn’t disappoint.

Lucero was the host of the show gracing the red carpet wearing a purplicious Angel Sanchez Resort 2010 one-shouldered gown, with a red trim for added detail.

I wish she’d worn the gown with the trim around the neckline folded up like on the runway, but I’m guessing her interpretation was to show off her cleavage.

Barbara Bermudo also wore an Angel Sanchez Resort 2010 gown from the same collection.

I much prefer Barbara’s rich coloured blue one-shouldered gown as it feels more regal.

Her hair was slicked back with statement earrings completing the look.

If this was a face-off actress Marlene Favela would win hands down in her David Salomon Spring 2010 gown.

The gown caresses her curves, giving her a stunning silhouette plus I love the volume on her ruffled shoulder detail.

Eva Longoria walked the red carpet, and also presented an award at the ceremony.

The ‘Desperate Housewives’ actress was sparkling wearing a typically gorgeous Zuhair Murad Resort 2010 bronze and gold strapless beaded pencil dress with a fringed hem.

As gorgeous as her dress is, Eva’s outshone by the other ladies on this red carpet.

Kika Rocha glows in an electric blue Notte by Marchesa Fall 2009 strapless gown with a rosette detail on the waist.

Simply exquisite, with a beautiful smile to match.

Laura Pausini shunned colour for a beautiful black Giorgio Armani Fall 2009 strapless dress accented with a jeweled detail on the bodice.

Love the dress, but I would’ve loved her look more without the necklaces.

This Oscar de la Renta Fall 2009 purple gown is very popular on red carpets around the world.  I think this is it’s 4th outing.

Singer Natalia Jimenez is the latest celebrity to wear it.

For me this dress is made more interesting with the runway belt.

Amaia Montero looked oh so cute wearing a white draped Diane von Furstenberg sequined gown, which had a black sash tied to the waist from the Resort 2009 collection.

There is a lot of green going on with Alicia Keys’ Kaufman Franco look, but I think it’s more green goddess than green goblin.

“Viola Di Mare” Premiere

Maria Grazia Cucinotta was by far my favourite on the red carpet this weekend.

The stunning actress looked divine wearing an Armani Privé spiral gown which was embroidered with Swarovski crystals.

This gown is very similar to the Privé gown Sharon Stone wore recently.

Isabella Ragonese wore a beautiful dress with an unmistakable Missoni floral print from the Fall 2008 collection.

The grey and blue print dress had ruffled shoulders and an embellished detail cascading down one  side.

We don’t often get so see Roberta Armani on the red carpet, but she doesn’t disappoint wearing a Giorgio Armani Fall 2009 two-tone black on gold bustier dress.

Her brunette locks were swept to one-side, as she paired her dress with Armani accessories.

“Viola Di Mare” Photocall

I loved Isabella Ragonese’s Missoni dress, but I wasn’t crazy about her Isabel Marant Fall 2009 look.

I much prefer the runway colour combination.

“Up In The Air” Premiere

I wasn’t a fan of Elisabetta Canalis last red carpet look, but she does a complete 180 by looking spectacular wearing an Armani Privé Fall 2009 midnight blue strapless velvet gown, with a lighter blue satin bodice.

She opted to wear her sash around her neck rather than tying it into a cute bow as the look was presented on the runway.

George Clooney was decked out in Giorgio Armani tuxedo.

“The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus”

Lily Cole opted for a very familiar Dolce & Gabbana black corset gown, which looks amazing on her.

Despite seeing this gown many times in various colours, I’m not bored seeing it on Lily.

Rose McGowan toned down the sex kitten for a demure look despite the bright fuchsia colour of her Dolce & Gabbana gown.

Normally her looks are shorter, tighter and more revealing.

“The Last Station” Premiere

Helen Mirren was perfection personified – as always – wowing the crowds wearing a sleeveless gown with a large bow and diamond brooch detail.

She was easily my second favourite from this weekends looks.

February 26th, 2009

Actress Zhang Ziyi arrived at the premiere of Forever Enthralled in Tokyo yesterday looking so cute in her Giorgio Armani Resort 2009 dress.

The dress had a silver embellished trim on the hemline, and a dragonfly brooch on her shoulder.

She wore her dress, with a pair of black bow tied shoes, a silver ankle bracelet, silver watch, bracelet and diamond ring.

Her hair was tied back in a loose single plait, and decorated with a silver accessory.

Her make-up was kept very light, with a pink glossy lip colour, which completed her chic look.

Her movie opens in Japan on March 7.

Giorgio Armani Spring 2009 collection was full of luxe fabrics of organza and chiffon, with a colour palette of light and pastel shades of sandy beige to sea shell brown.

The designer presented a mixed collection of romantic above-the-knee dresses, ankle-length gowns, Bermuda shorts and slim pants.

Signature pieces like tuxedo/blazers were given a modern touch, with asymmetrical buttoning. Dresses were either strapless or layered with petals.

Red carpet dresses were admired by Armani faithful Cate Blanchett, who like Renee Zellweger, was no doubt shopping for her next red carpet gown.

*Sigh*

With her effortless beauty, my number one girl crush Cate Blanchett, as expected, was in the front row for Armani’s Spring 2009 collection.

Looking better than ever wearing an Armani Privé ensemble, with a bow, which was very much a the signature of the Armani Privé Fall 2008 collection. Looking at Cate, it is easy to see why this collaboration between actress and designer works so well.

Solange Knowles opted for a very classy Giorgio Armani Pre-Fall 2008 suit, with a checked blazer and black velvet pants. The look was perfect with her Armani Privé heels, the multi-coloured layered pearls, but Solange would not be Solange if she did not ruin perfection, so she did so by wearing pink knuckle dusters.

Why? I have absolutely no idea.

Emporio Armani Spring 2009 collection had a colour palette of in navy and white, with shades of grey here and there. The trousers picked up on the trend from New York Fashion Week, and were either either cigarette pants or harem-inspired.

Blouses and dresses were adorned with large statement necklaces, which is very much a Fall 2008 trend, which looks set to be a Spring 2009 trend.

Solange, was lucky enough to wear another Armani piece, and this time she ruined it with a ridiculous feathered thing on her head.

If only she would stop trying so desperately hard.

Giorgio Armani Boutique Opening Cocktail Party

Cate opted for a simple LBD with Prive heels.

Solange finally took it down a notch or 12, when she wore this classic black Giorigo Armani Fall 2008 dress, with exaggerated hips. She accessorized with a large statement necklace, and a blue clutch.

I have run out of superlatives for this woman.

She was simply amazing wearing a dress from the Giorgio Armani Fall 2007 collection to her Mad Money premiere.
