Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was elegance personified on the red carpet at the 2012 Met Gala, held in New York City on Monday night.

The model/actress wore a custom Burberry gown.

Her striped copper-and-black draped-back tulle gown with an embroidered glass-beaded neckline was one of the best looks to hit the red carpet.

No sexy face, no plunging neckline, just a gorgeous gown for a stunning woman.

She kept the look simple with a pair of Irene Neuwirth 18k rose-gold earrings, J/Hadley ring and a bronze Burberry clutch.

With her hair pulled up in a high bun, she sported golden bronze eye shadow and a pale-pink lip colour.

Delta Goodrem was joined by many more stars on the red carpet at the 2012 Logie Awards held at Melbourne’s Crown Palladium to celebrate Australia’s finest talents on television.

Megan Gale: It’s no surprise to see Megan wearing an Alex Perry gown as she’s worn the designer on several occasions. Her sultry black dress with sheer panels including a deep-v cut-out was teamed with a black-and-white Bulgari clutch. Had the clutch been nude and black, this look would’ve been a perfect 10. As presented, it’s a 9.5.

Kate Richie: My, hasn’t Sally Fletcher grown. Those who grew up watching ‘Home & Away’ after school won’t recognise Kate Ritchie. I can’t believe she’s now 33 years old and looking absolutely stunning wearing a Steven Khalil midnight-blue gown. She really brought the glamour to this event with her sequined dress and with an equally bedazzling clutch and jewels. Ladylike sexy chic red-carpet dressing at its best.

Asher Keddie: You can’t have a high-profile event in Australia without a look from the Australian Couture kings from J’Aton Couture. It would be like an Oscars without Elie Saab. This might be the Marmite dress of the group; you’ll either love it or hate it. I love it. It’s tantalizing sheer without being tacky, as it’s worn with much grace and sophistication. The attention to detail on the embroidery is magnificent and Asher let the dress do all the talking by not adding any accessories.

Some girls have all the luck.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has a banging body, good looks, an action hero boyfriend, now she can add a Burberry Prorsum Fall 2012 bag to her list.

The model/actress was already back in New York on Thursday after sitting front row at the Burberry Fall 2012 show on Monday.

It looked to be a fruitful trip, as she’s the first to snag herself one of the bags from the presentation.

No wonder she looks so damn happy.

Her top-handle chequered bag with a leather bow accent just shot to the top of my wish list.

The front row of the Burberry Prorsum Fall 2012 show was jam packed with celebrities from all over the world, proving that Burberry is truly a global brand loved the world over.

The first to arrive were the Asian actresses.

Vivian Hsu: The actress struck a serious pose wearing a snakeskin Burberry Prorsum Pre-Fall 2012 coat. Blue tights and brown suede shearling-lined ankle boots completed her look.

‘Girls Generation’: Thankfully, Seohyun, Yoona and Tiffany gave us some interesting shoes to drool over. I also need to thank them for giving us three very different looks from the Burberry Prorsum Spring 2012 collection. Seohyn wore a tribal-print coat, Yoona kept her look sweet wearing an emerald-green keyhole dress with a pleated bib, and Tiffany opted for a sexy ruched mini-print dress which is considerably shorter to the dress presented on the runway.

Adele is expected to take home several Brit Awards this evening much like she did at the Grammy’s last week.

Tonight she wore yet another black floor-length dress, this time by Burberry.

This dress is almost identical to her Grammy dress, as it’s black and has three-quarter length sleeves.

Despite the similarities I much prefer the Armani dress. Maybe that red pout swung the vote or maybe this dress is just a tad dull.

De Beers jewels completed her look.

I also attended my first Burberry Prorsum show during Fall 2012 London Fashion Week yesterday.

It is, as you can imagine, the biggest show seen in London both in size and in production value.

The front row was packed with stars from all over the globe who joined us in celebrating this great British brand.

Models took to the runway wearing trench coats, cropped quilted coats, and tweed, fur-accented and wool coats in several different colours. These looks were kept fresh with bow-front ruched belts which accented the waist of nearly every look.

We also saw skirts which either had a swirled panel draped across the front, a peplum detail, or they were fluted in rich textures such as velvet and wool. Tee-shirts with owl motifs, white oversized shirts and fringed looks closed the show.

I loved the accessories, which ranged from studded leather gloves, which everyone tweeted about after the show, tweed baker boy hats, python gloves, quilted clutches adorned with a gold fox or owl heads, lace-up ankle boots, and large totes.

The show ended with a loud rumble of thunder and a crash of lightning inside the venue. As we looked at each other worriedly, a downpour of heavy showers started running down the outside of the greenhouse-styled venue, much to our relief, and we all burst into laughter – even Anna Wintour cracked a rare smile.

Cue models taking to the runway for the finale, carrying umbrellas, and shimmering gold confetti falling to the ground like rain.
