It would appear that an LBD isn’t an LBD dress these days without some cut-outs.

Mônot (your favourite brand) leads the charge by producing an entire collection of LBCOD (little black cut out dresses), while in the last year celebrities such as Kate Hudson (in Mônot), Dua Lipa (in Christopher Esber), Kendall Jenner (in Mônot), Alessandra Ambrosio (in Dundas) have all donned LBCOD, along with those you wouldn’t expect like Katie Holmes (in Christopher Esber) and Nicole Kidman (in Saint Laurent).

The LBD is getting saucier and slinkier, and Irina Shayk is the latest celebrity to jump on this trend as she was spotted wearing this Burberry Spring 2022 dress during London Fashion Week.

Either Mônot has completely desensitised me to cut-outs, or this Burberry dress feels quite demure.

Perhaps it’s the long sleeve that adds an air of elegance, or the model herself who also showcased the back on Instagram to reveal that the party is both at the front and the back.
