Menswear Weekend Roundup

The past few days were packed with a range of menswear looks, heavy on the formal tux angle with a few more colourful options thrown in for good measure. Here, a look at the weekend’s handsome set of guys.

Zachary Quinto: A presenter at the 68th annual Tony Awards, the actor dressed for the occasion in a Thom Sweeney three-piece, black wool tuxedo, paired with a white cotton dress shirt and black silk bow tie. David Yurman black onyx shirt studs pulled the look together with an added note of polish.

Djimon Hounsou: Bringing a breath of fresh blue to the red carpet of the ‘How To Train Your Dragon 2’ Los Angeles premiere, Djimon wore his beautifully hued Calvin Klein Collections suit with equally well-styled accessories, including an incredible pair of navy Christian Louboutin loafers, Martin Katz cufflinks, and a Montblanc timepiece.

Daniel Radcliffe
: In attendance at the Tony Awards supporting his play, ‘The Cripple of Inishmaan,’ Daniel was dapper in an Ermenegildo Zegna Made-to-Measure one-button, satin peak-lapel tuxedo in midnight navy—a great departure from the traditional black colour. A matching bow tie, white dress shirt, and KG Kurt Geiger ‘Anton’ shoes finished the look.

Robert Pattinson In Marni - Le Grand Journal

Robert Pattinson and Guy Pearce made a guest appearance on ‘Le Grand Journal’ during the 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday (May 20) in Cannes, France to promote their latest movie, ‘The Rover’.

Wearing matching blue suits, Rob opted for a less-formal-fitted Gucci blue peak lapel two button Monaco suit styled with a light blue dress shirt and black Adidas sneakers.

It would appear that at night he dons Dior Homme and for day he likes the unstructured, relaxed yet smart approach of Italian brands.

Robert Pattinson In Dior Homme - 'The Rover' Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Following his very casual showing at ‘The Rover’ photocall earlier in the day, Robert Pattinson returned to the red carpet for the premiere of his movie during Cannes Film Festival on Sunday (May 18) before headed to the after-party.

The British actor scrubbed up very well, wearing a sharply tailored Dior Homme satin-lapel tuxedo styled with a white pique front classic collar cotton tuxedo shirt, a black bow tie and super-shiny shoes.

The only hint of scuff comes via his day-old stubble.

While I was hoping for some colour, like the green Gucci suit and the maroon Gucci suit he wore during the Twilight promo tour, this look is nothing out of the ordinary.

Perhaps he will opt for a more colourful option when promoting ‘Maps to the Stars’ later today.

Robert Pattinson In Marni - 'The Rover' Cannes Film Festival Photocall

Robert Pattinson attended ‘The Rover’ photocall during the 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival this afternoon (May 18) in Cannes, France.

The actor wore a green Marni unstructured blazer over his black polo shirt which he paired with dark denim jeans for his part Italian look with plenty of Brit boy laidback flare.

Keeping it casual he topped off his Sunday afternoon look with black sneakers.

I would’ve preferred smarter trousers, but this look suits him to a tee.

I’m hoping he brings more colour to the red carpet for this evenings premiere. I’m relying on him and Ryan Gosling to shake up menswear during this festival.

Menswear round up

From London to Los Angeles, here’s a look at the men who made an impression over the weekend.

Dan Stevens: The British actor stepped out at the London Evening Standard Theatre Awards on Sunday night, wearing a dashing black Burberry tux and bow tie. It doesn’t get much more dashing than that.

Andrew Garfield: The actor attended the ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2′ photocall at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver Studios on Saturday alongside Emma Stone. Like his lovely costar, he also showed Band of Outsiders some love, wearing one of the label’s khaki-coloured jackets. He paired his casual outerwear choice with a blue-and-red plaid shirt, dark denim, and black loafers.

Brad Pitt: The actor wore a black tux and matching bow tie by Saint Laurent, joining his wife-to-be Angelina Jolie and their son Maddox on the red carpet at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Governors Awards on Saturday evening.

Robert Pattinson In Gucci - 2nd Annual Australians In Film Awards Gala

Robert Pattinson made an appearance at the 2nd Annual Australians In Film Awards Gala, held yesterday at the Intercontinental Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

It has been awhile since we’ve seen the British boy on the red carpet. But he showed up to the party with an air of polished panache in a royal blue Gucci Resort 2014 wool mohair two-button, notch lapel Signoria suit.

Paired with a crisp white dress shirt, navy silk tie and brown leather lace-up loafers—along with a nearly clean-shaven gaze—the actor assuredly turned heads when it came time for his presenter duties onstage.

Do you like his bold blue statement?
