Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

There were so many great menswear looks to take the red-carpet stage over the weekend.

Caleb McLaughlin: At the ripe age of 16, this ‘Stranger Things’ star is showing his incredible flair for style in this 3.1 Phillip Lim paint-splattered ensemble at the 2017 American Music Awards on Sunday (November 19) in LA. I love how he fully committed to the look, right down to the shoes—and that this is both youthful and fashion-forward at the same time.

Harry Styles: At the 2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on Monday (November 20) in Shanghai, China, Harry did what he does best combining retro and modern style influences in this Givenchy Spring 2018 mint suit and matching silk shirt paired with Givenchy boots.

Machine Gun Kelly: This Comme des Garçons ensemble took the abstract, paint-splattered effect to even greater lengths at the American Music Awards. But, despite the exaggerated elements, the effect came off as directionally cool rather than comical.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

From awards galas to premieres and more, there were plenty of occasions for the men to be out in force on the red carpet. Here’s a look at the men who have been front and centre.

Justin Timberlake: Proving that the velvet trend isn’t just for the ladies, Justin cut a thoroughly suave profile in this dark-green velvet Tom Ford tuxedo at the 9th Annual Governors Awards on Saturday (November 11) in Hollywood. I love this luxe twist on the classic tux.

Jason Momoa: Although his styling may have been more in the manner of edgy-bohemian, Jason’s custom Valentino tuxedo was quite smooth and polished at the ‘Justice League’ LA premiere on Monday (November 13).

Jared Leto: It’s Jared Leto and it’s an MTV event, so it’s only natural that he would go sartorially wild at the 2017 MTV EMAs on Sunday (November 12) in London with his latest Gucci endeavor—a Fall 2017 look that was even more subversively rebellious than the runway presentation. The colour discord between the lavender, bubblegum, and red track pants made me want to shield my eyes—and we haven’t even gotten to the tidy-whitey sneakers.

Breaking from the ladies, we are taking a look at what the men have been wearing on the red carpet lately.

Robert Pattinson: The Dior Homme ambassador was dressed in the label for the ‘Good Time’ London Film Festival screening on Thursday (October 5). The charcoal grey colour palette and sleek lines of the suit became the focal point as there were no superfluous elements to distract us. The classic white shirt and skinny tie offered a harmonious finish.

JR: The French photographer opted for a statement-making jacket at the MOMA Special Screening of ‘Faces Places’ on Wednesday (October 4) in New York. The Gucci Pre-Fall 2017 suit jacket was decorated with fantastical green dragons across the chest. JR truly made the ensemble his own by accessorising with white sneakers, coordinating sunglasses and a dark hat.

Charlie Plummer: Also in Dior Homme, the young actor attended the ‘Lean on Pete’ London Film Festival premiere on Thursday (October 5). The sharply cut navy suit was enhanced with a crisp white shirt and soft blue tie. If his smile and casual pose are any indication, he clearly feels comfortable in the dashing two-button suit.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

If all the suits were starting to look the same and you’ve been craving some nontraditional menswear looks, you’ll be happy to see the latest roundup of fellows that certainly marched to their own style beat.

Algee Smith: At the Variety Power of Young Hollywood party on Tuesday (August 8) in LA, Algee continued to make waves with his personality-packed style in this Coach 1941 Spring 2017 look. I will say that I think the scrunched-up, pink-tinged plaid pants overcooked the look a bit, as I much preferred this statement jacket’s original presentation with black trousers. To round out the look, he wore Giuseppe Zanotti Spring 2018 black suede and white leather
‘Double’ sneakers.

Robert Pattinson: For the ‘Good Time’ NYC on Tuesday (August 8), where he joined Chloe Sevigny, the actor dressed in a head-to-toe Dior Homme Spring 2018 ensemble that served up his slightly unconventional, nonchalant style edge in the bold stripes and the un-tucked silhouette.

Machine Gun Kelly: Also at the Variety Power of Young Hollywood party, Machine Gun Kelly would not be missed in this monochromatic Calvin Klein Collection Fall 2017 ensemble that put its Americana, uniform-inspired leanings into a slightly more urban, rebellious light, with Uri Minkoff ‘Soprano’ sneakers completing the effect.

Christian Dior Celebrates 70 Years of Creation

Monday (July 3) was quite the celebratory day for Christian Dior, as the label not only presented its Fall 2017 Couture collection during Paris Fashion Week but also feted 70 years of creation with the launch of the ‘Christian Dior, couturier du rêve’ exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs. Naturally, there were a bevy of beauties in attendance—some donning their second Dior look of the day after attending the Fall 2017 show.

Jennifer Lawrence: The actress flaunted an impossibly cool look earlier in the day and went from strength to strength in a very different, yet still daring Christian Dior Resort 2018 sheer, embroidered fringe gown styled with the ubiquitous briefs along with Dior ‘Wildior” boots and Dior jewels for a nod to unconventional panache.

Robert Pattinson: The token male, Robert kept his suave mood going in monochromatic Dior Homme relaxed suiting that was nearly as dapper as his steely gaze.

Cara Delevingne: As far as I’m concerned, Cara can do no wrong as she flaunts her platinum buzz cut in powerful form, especially when clad in Christian Dior from top to toe. I love the movement of the plisse skirt here, which added a flirty femininity to the sexier bustier frock, with choker necklaces and over-the-knee boots contributing a rocker-forward spirit.
