Front Row @ Fall 2015 Couture Week

Front Row @ Fall 2015 Couture Week

Fashionable femmes have been in attendance at a range of shows during Paris Fall 2015 Couture Fashion Week in Paris, France.

Olivia Palermo: Included in her fashion show rounds, Olivia was at the Schiaparelli presentation on Monday (July 6), where she opted to wear a Christian Dior gingham frock. Styled with flats and a silk printed scarf, the ensemble did possess a certain charm. But the deep and wide plunge neckline did no favours to the otherwise sweet silhouette.

Paz Vega: While the sheer overload continues, I still absolutely loved Paz’s Ralph & Russo Couture outing at the Ralph & Russo Couture show on Tuesday (July 7). The combination of enchanting, laser-cut white lace and the glamorous, old-Hollywood peplum silhouette had me at hello—and the daring punch of the scorpion-encrusted clutch only furthered my affection for the look.

Lupita Nyong’o
: The actress was definitively elegant in a Maison Margiela sheer-paneled dress at the Maison Margiela Couture show on Wednesday (July 8). While the impeccable tailoring contributed to the success of the ensemble, it was refreshing to likewise see Lupita veer slightly outside the box with funky platform heels—although this would have been a nice occasion to bring in a vibrant lip, too.

Lancôme 80th Anniversary Party

PARIS, FRANCE - JULY 07: Isabella Rossellini, Lupita Nyong'o, Julia Roberts, Penelope Cruz, Kate Winslet and Lilly Collins attend the Lancome 80th Anniversary Party as part of Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2015/2016 on July 7, 2015 in Paris, France. (Photo by Pierre Suu/WireImage)

Isabella Rossellini, Lupita Nyong’o, Julia Roberts, Penelope Cruz, Kate Winslet and Lilly Collins attended Lancôme’s 80th Anniversary Party as ambassadors of the brand on Tuesday (July 7) in Paris, France.

Isabella Rossellini: The gorgeous Italian actress suited up in a classic tux adding a feminine touch via her Chanel pearls.

Lupita Nyong’o: The Kenya beauty didn’t get the wear-black memo, opting to stand out in a sparkling silver Prada number.

Julia Roberts: I’m not surprised to see Julia in a Givenchy suit. I love the flirty nature with the shorter length and delicate lace blouse.

Penelope Cruz: The Spanish beauty stood out for me in her Emilio Pucci lace accented gown, even if it does feel a bit dated.

Kate Winslet: Many of you are tired of her go-to fitted frocks, so on this occasion you will be delighted to see her don an Alaia fit and flare design.

Lily Collins: The young actress wore an elaborate Mikael D high-low gown styled with Giuseppe Zanotti heels and Messika jewels. The nude lining is turning me off this look.

Despite the lack of colour there is are some great looks here. My favourites are Isabella and Penelope.

Christian Dior Fall 2015 Couture Front Row

Dior 1
The Christian Dior Fall 2015 Couture front row was filled with Dior-dressed darlings, who watched the magical procession of confections make their way down a purple-hued runway on Monday (July 6) during Paris Fashion Week in Paris, France.

Emily Blunt
: Cutting a pristinely sophisticated profile, the actress struck a lovely balance between old Hollywood glamour and modern elegance in her sleek Christian Dior mock peplum dress styled with side-parted retro waves and Dior Fine Jewelry. Her navy clutch and houndstooth pumps were a glorious addition to her all-white look.

Lupita Nyong’o
: Unfortunately, the only element I liked about Lupita’s outing was the radiant red colour of her Dior dress. The frock itself translated as rather ill-fitting and far too twee for the actress, and the black Dior pumps, funky sunglasses, and Dior earrings did nothing to warm me to this look.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
: Changing her look by a full 180 degrees from her frow appearance at the Atelier Versace Fall 2015 show, the supermodel wore a plaid Dior jacket and shorts paired with Dior sandals and funky Dior shades. While the ensemble was likewise rather youthful, she carried it off with a sweet sense of chic panache so that the ‘too twee’ label need not apply.

Lupita Nyong’o In Gucci – Trophée Chopard

Lupita Nyong'o In Gucci - Trophée Chopard

Lupita Nyong’o also attended the 15th anniversary of the Trophée Chopard, held during the 68th annual Cannes Film Festival on Friday (May 15) in Cannes, France.

Again showcasing the soft femininity that we saw at the Cannes opening ceremony and premiere, the actress again wore a one-of-a-kind Gucci pleated chiffon design, this one emboldened by embellishment at the neckline and belt.

Echoing the dress’s only punch of bright colour in the magenta embroidery at the belt, she wore beautifully complementary Chopard jewels and polished off the look with a rose-pink lip.

While her first Gucci gown of Cannes was not favoured by all, does this one delight or disappoint?

Lupita Nyong’o In Gucci – ‘La Tete Haute’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere & Opening Ceremony

Lupita Nyongo In Gucci - ‘La Tete Haute’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere & Opening Ceremony

Lupita Nyong’o made her Cannes Film Festival debut for the opening ceremony and premiere of ‘La Tete Haute’ (‘Standing Tall’) on Wednesday (May 13) in Cannes, France.

The actress has long had a love affair with colour, and I’m delighted that that trend continued tonight with this Gucci one-of-a kind jade-green chiffon plisse gown with cape detail, enhanced with embroidered crystals and pink and blush silk flowers.

I’m swept away by the elegance, the soft femininity and of course that magenta lip.

She completed her look with green satin heels and an antique gold Gucci hair accessory.

Will she be the new Queen of Cannes?

Aahhh, Sarah Jessica Parker would be so proud.

Her jewels were Chopard.
