Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Kate Beckinsale In Monique Lhuillier - 2013 Vanity Fair Party Kate Beckinsale practically exploded onto the scene with her glittery gown at the the 2013 Vanity Fair Party, hosted at the Sunset Tower in West Hollywood.

Like some other Oscars after-party favourites, including Naomie Harris and Ginnifer Goodwin, Kate stunned in Monique Lhuillier—except her confection was fresh off its Fall 2013 runway debut at New York Fashion Week.

The designer’s collection was red-carpet worthy, so I’m glad the British actress gave this embellished tulle piece some time in the spotlight.

The deco-like embroidery reminded me of a fireworks grand finale, while the above-the-ankle length was a delightful change from the flock of floor-grazing gowns seen on Sunday night.

Kate let her dress have all the sparkle, only accessorizing with small Chopard diamond studs and a simple pair of black ankle-strap heels.

A youthful high ponytail finished this look with a fun flourish.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Kate Beckinsale's Burberry Prorsum 'Crush' Bags

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Kate Beckinsale both attended the Burberry Prorsum Fall 2013 presentation on Monday in London.

Rosie headed back to Los Angeles, arriving yesterday afternoon, while Kate, staying on in London, was spotted headed to dinner at Scott’s restaurant in Mayfair with David Walliams.

Both ladies carried fresh-off-the-runway Burberry Prorsum Fall 2013 bags that we had seen in the hands of Jourdan Dunn, Cara Delevingne, Karlie Kloss and Edie Campbell, getting the jump on everyone else.

The bag features structured panels contrasted with a soft inner pouch to create a ladylike shape which was presented in a variety of materials including Prorsum leather and calfskin. The leather drawcord fastening references classic outerwear closures and is a big feature through out all bags in the collection.

Wearing a laidback look with teal Isabel Marant fringed boots and a Saint Laurent ‘Babycat’ scarf, Rosie’s bag of choice featured heart-print calfskin.

Also wearing teal Boss coat with black J Brand ‘Blair’ leather pants, Kate’s selected the zebra-print calfskin bag.

If I had the choice between the two I think I would select Rosie’s as I love the sweet heart-print.

Burberry’s Fall 2013 presentation marked the debut of Runway Made to Order, a service that offers custom-made outerwear and bags from the collection featuring personalised engraved nameplates. Runway coats and bags are now available for two weeks on Burberry.com, for delivery in just nine weeks.

Burberry Fall 2013 Front Row

As is customary, quite the coterie of starlets stylishly resided on Burberry Prorsum’s front row to see just what Christopher Bailey had in store for Fall 2013; a collection he titled “Trench Kisses, A Collection of Classics and Christine Keeler.” While it was hard to compete with the designer’s gorgeous runway heroines, many of these cool-girl guests rocked their Burberry best at London’s Kensington Gardens on Monday afternoon and gave the models a good run.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley: The British model and actress broke out a sleek coral-red pantsuit for her front-row seat at the show. Was it mannish? Yes. But with the slim fit and the impeccable tailoring, no to mention Rosie’s voluminous waves, she looked like she just stepped off the runway herself.

Freida Pinto: Opting for a cooler palette of jewel tones, the actress wore a dark sapphire corset and emerald green trouser from Burberry Prorsum’s colour-saturated Spring 2013 collection. Instead of the cropped biker jacket originally featured on the catwalk, Freida added a black sash detail to the peplum waist of the top. Without any accessories on this look, I would have at least liked to see the added zest of the runway’s golden yellow shoe. But she played off the black with her peep-toe wedge.

Rita Ora: We can always count on this British songstress to pump up the volume with her chameleon-like style. Here, she also went for a menswear-inspired statement with a navy suit that kept an edge with its ’80s slouch and rolled-up sleeves, paired back to stacks of colourful bangles, a “foxy” chain necklace and a T-shirt that playfully illustrated Rita’s new British BFF and model of the moment, “Queen” Cara Delevingne. The white version of those peep-toe wedges also made an appearance, as did a modernized bouffant-style ‘do.

Kate Beckinsale In Gucci - Warner Bros and InStyle Golden Globe Awards After Party

Skipping out on the main event, Kate Beckinsale was spotted on the red carpet for the Warner Bros. and InStyle Golden Globe Awards After Party held in Beverly Hills, California on Sunday evening.

I wasn’t surprised to see her wearing this pale-pink Gucci Spring 2013 strapless column gown with a delicate ruffle, as this look is very much her M.O.: pink and girlie.

Accessorizing with gold trinkets, Kate applied a pretty pink lip colour, with her ombre tresses teased into a side-swept bun.

Alberta Ferretti Lisa Love

The Alberta Ferretti and Vogue Limited Edition Collection 2013 show and dinner hosted at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, California was what fashion dreams are made of. The chichi event brought out a crush of starlets, and we cannot help but be in love with their kaleidoscope of looks—at least most of them.

Kate Beckinsale: The stunning actress posed in a staggering twist on an LBD from Alberta Ferretti Fall 2012. The sexy and structured corset top matched with a solid black skirt, instead of the printed runway version, was the epitome of edgy glamour. So, too, were Kate’s Edie Parker clutch and State Room wavy feather diamond-encrusted earrings. Her Casadei black patent T-strap pumps with the signature ‘Blade’ heel were far better than the plain catwalk pump, too.

Selena Gomez: The newly single entertainer showed off her sultry appeal in a plunging blue cocktail frock plucked from the Alberta Ferretti Spring 2013 catwalk. She paired it with studded Giuseppe Zanotti nude heels and Melinda Maria jewels. The deep teal-blue shade with its wispy overlay looked all the more sophisticated with Selena’s searing red lip and slicked back updo.

Anna Kendrick: While the color of this starlet’s sheer, light emerald dress was completely on trend, unfortunately this look didn’t translate nearly as dynamically off the Alberta Ferretti Spring 2013 runway. The dress’s lining was too distracting, and Anna’s clunky Sergio Rossi bronze platforms were a horror, weighing down what should have been a diaphanous look.

Kate Beckinsale blended into the background in blue at an event celebrating the 40th anniversary of Porche design in LA on Tuesday.

The British actress looked beautiful in a sequined Vivienne Westwood dress, though I’m fairly sure she chose it to stand out from the fashionable crowd, not to match the interior.

Nevertheless, the dress, with its quintessentially Westwood neckline and gathering at the waist, suited Kate perfectly – adding volume where needed and skimming her figure to highlight her svelte frame.

The white bag and matching Christian Louboutin mesh pumps added unexpected and refreshing tones to the ensemble.
