Karolina Kurkova In Mary Katrantzou - 2013 Met Gala

Karolina Kurkova took the red carpet at the 2013 Met Gala in New York City on Monday evening.

The Czech supermodel worked a custom Mary Katrantzou one-sleeve mini dress with a 3-D effect skirt to perfection.

Her multi-print dress may come off as too busy for some, but she has the style, confidence and attitude to make it work.

Studded ankle-strap pumps, a slicked back hairdo, extreme smoky eyes and a nude pout completed the look.

I had no doubt that Karolina would fully embrace the theme.

Karolina Kurkova In Givenchy - Moda Operandi’s ‘A Midnight Supper’ Event

Karolina Kurkova attended Moda Operandi’s ‘A Midnight Supper’ event, which launched the retailer’s exclusive ‘Punk Collection’.

The model wore a Givenchy long silk-cady sleeveless vest, featuring studded embellishments, a notch collar and flap pockets, which is part of the limited edition ‘Punk Collection’.

Taking the styling into her own hands, Karolina opted to wear the vest as a dress – naturally, with those long legs – adding ankle-strap pumps and a red clutch to her look.

Working a fresh-faced look, Karolina completed her look with a chic updo and rosy glossy lips.

Look out for Karolina on the red carpet at the Met Gala tonight, where she’s expected to wear a London-based designer.

Karolina Kurkova In Zara & Sandro - Out In New York

Karolina Kurkova was spotted taking a stroll in New York City on Thursday afternoon.

No prizes for guessing what instantly caught my eye: it was of course her electric-blue skorts, which I also have in my closet courtesy of Spanish retailer Zara.

Apart from the colour the reason I fell in love with these skorts is because it’s short enough to look like a mini skirt, but gives me plenty of coverage at the back, plus I loved the asymmetrical cuts.

The supermodel wore her Zara skorts with a grey tee and a Sandro ‘Vernis’ tweed biker jacket with contrasting white sleeves and asymmetrical zipper details.

I love the feminine twist on this classic edgy design. It’s perfect for a mild spring day in the city.

A Gryson ‘Ruby’ bag worn across the body, shades and black booties completed her look.

I love how this feels far less complicated than her fellow supermodel, Coco Rocha earlier this week.

Karolina Kurkova In Giorgio Armani & Blumarine - Tribeca Film Festival

The usually colourful Karolina Kurkova sported not only two all-black looks this week, but two menswear-inspired looks.

I’m noticing a trend for menswear-inspired looks, with both Carey Mulligan and Rebecca Hall opting to take this route this week.

Vanity Fair Tribeca Film Festival Opening Night Party: On Tuesday, the model donned an Armani look which featured a cropped waist-baring tuxedo jacket and oversized palazzo pants. As we’ve seen in the past, the model rounded off her menswear-inspired look with a severe centre-parted bun and red lippie. The only thing putting me off this look are the pants with an elasticated waist. They really pull down the look.

‘For The Love Of Cinema’ Tribeca Film Festival Dinner: On this occasion, she showed off her slender pins wearing a Blumarine Fall 2013 tuxedo dress. Opting for a more feminine approach, Karolina’s notch-lapel tuxedo jacket was paired with a tulip-shaped satin uber-mini skirt decorated with black and silver embellishments. Free-flowing tresses, smoky eyes, silver jewels and a box clutch completed her look.

I love the flirty, feminine take on menswear with her Blumarine look. Of the two, I would put this one up for BDOTW.
Would this be your choice?

Who Wore Roland Mouret Better Samantha Barks, Karolina Kurkova or Natalie Dormer

Roland Mouret’s ‘Abbotsford’ dress has been worn by celebrities on three separate occasions and in two different colourways.

‘Les Mis’ actress and red carpet newcomer Samantha Barks was the first to wear the black-and-green version to the 2013 London Critics’ Circle Film Awards back in January.

Opting for subtle jewels and an updo, she added metallic-silver Jimmy Choo ‘Anouk’ pumps to her look.

Karolina Kurkova wore the same dress in green-and-white with Christian Louboutin ‘Paulina’ pumps for her guest appearance on ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno’ the following month. Only Karolina can make me fall in love with a look which features white pumps.

When Natalie Dormer attended the ‘Games of Thrones’ LA premiere she wore her ‘Abbotsford’ dress with black pumps.

I prefer the green-and-white runway version over Samantha’s black-and-green. Natalie’s footwear was totally wrong for this dress and Karolina took my breath away, so it was an easy win for the leggy Czech model.
