Dakota Johnson In Chanel Couture – 2015 Met Gala

Dakota Johnson In Chanel Couture - 2015 Met Gala

Dakota Johnson attended the ‘China: Through the Looking Glass’ 2015 Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (May 4).

Flaunting her newly shorn bob, the ’50 Shades of Grey’ actress mirrored a glitzy disco ball in her Chanel Fall 2013 Couture sculpted, embellished minidress, which bore little resemblance to its original runway entrance.

She styled the frock with Chanel Fine Jewelry earrings and the Chanel limited edition Matryoshka bag from the Paris-Moscow Pre-Fall 2009 collection.

I think she may have shown up to the wrong party.

Chanel Paris-Salzburg 2014/15 Metiers d’Art Collection New York Fashion Show

CHANEL Paris-Salzburg 2014 15 new york

Bold names filled the front row of the Chanel Paris-Salzburg 2014/15 Metiers d’Art Collection at the Park Avenue Armory in New York City on Tuesday (March 31), where the collection of stars naturally all wore their Chanel head-to-toe best to watch the Austrian-inspired designs take to the runway.

Dakota Johnson: The ’50 Shades of Grey’ star continued to break outside her black-and-white-color shell in a warmly neutral Chanel Spring 2014 Couture dress with tonal button detailing. The strength of this look was in the silhouette that played with proportion in the cropped jacket and sleeves and defined waist. Sophisticatedly subtle with an edge, the look was styled with a classic black Chanel bag and tough-chic shoe boots.

Helen Lasichanh and Pharrell Williams: The power couple were well-coordinated; she in a characteristic, cropped Chanel jacket in multi-colour tweed mixed with the urban appeal of a sporty-luxe pair of gold grid shorts. Black tights, biker boots, and a white shoulder bag completed the split-personality look that somehow worked for Helen. As the face of the Paris-Salzburg 2014/15 collection, Pharrell obliged in regal style, rocking out a double-breasted, military-inspired coat with long white shorts and a captain’s hat. It was a performance-ready look, so it was only fitting that he later took the stage with Cara Delevingne to sing ‘CC The World.’

Christian Dior Fall 2015 Front Row

Christian Dior Fall 2015 Front Row

Earlier today (March 6) Christian Dior presented its Fall 2015 collection during Paris Fashion Week with a front row which didn’t included the usual suspects.

Dakota Johnson: Fresh from her promo tour for ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’, the actress who has been flitting between black and white red carpet looks settled for black on this occasion. I love how the off-the-shoulder style provides a fresh, modern-cool slant for this beautifully tailored tuxedo-inspired jumpsuit with a flattering, sophisticated silhouette. The pink cuff is a head scratcher, but the rest of the styling is perfectly complementary.

Hailee Steinfeld: I didn’t recognise Hailee in this Christian Dior Pre-Fall 2015 look. In fact I thought this was Kendall Jenner. The young actress is growing up fast; ditching girlie dresses for a more grown up look which still maintains a youthful flare. Aside from the out-of-place white clutch, I covet this look from head to toe, including that frosty pink lip.

Lorde: The singer added a backpack to her modern, minimalist Pre-Fall 2015 look which ordinarily I would frown at, but she made it work adding her own brand of cool to the look.

Dakota Johnson In Saint Laurent – 2015 Oscars

Dakota Johnson In Saint Laurent - 2015 Oscars

Dakota Johnson captured many a stare on the red carpet of the 2015 Oscars, hosted at the Dolby Theatre on Sunday (February 22) in Hollywood, California.

Finally breaking her black and white sartorial streak, the ’50 Shades of Grey’ starlet couldn’t have picked a more ravishing way to do so.

Her Saint Laurent embellished red column gown was a revelation that was still in keeping with her simple, unpretentious style, just taken up a few notches.

In addition to the bold colour, the power of the dress was in the asymmetric shoulder embellishment, structural bodice, and a thigh-high slit at the side to fulfill her characteristic, subtle sultry appeal.

Without a hint of try-hard, she balanced the jeweled detail of the dress with a Forevermark diamonds cuff on the opposing wrist, finishing the look with a simple ponytail and matching red lipstick.

Dakota Johnson In Oscar de la Renta – Late Show With David Letterman

Dakota Johnson In Oscar de la Renta - Late Show With David Letterman

Dakota Johnson stopped by the ‘Late Show With David Letterman’ on Tuesday (February 17) in New York City, where she could have easily stopped traffic in her striking ensemble.

The ’50 Shades of Grey’ actress stayed true to her black and white streak, combining the two colours here to impactful effect.

The eye-catching nature of her Oscar de la Renta Spring 2015 gingham ensemble is undeniable, and I love the graphic impact of the exploded chequerboard patterning, which ironically fades to grey throughout.

Because the look was so strong, she kept her accessories to a minimum with strappy black sandals and a simple wrist cuff.

With the classic coat and knee-length skirt paired with a sultry black corset, the ultimate effect is one of prim sexiness and a perfect representation for her—and her film. Would you agree?

Updated from the error of mistaking this as Dolce & Gabbana.

Julianne Moore & Dakota Johnson In BOSS – BOSS Fall 2015 Front Row

Julianne Moore & Dakota Johnson In BOSS - BOSS Fall 2015 Front Row

While the front row at Michael Kors was full of colour and print, things were very different at the BOSS Fall 2015 show, which was presented during New York Fashion Week on Wednesday (February 18) in New York City.

Julianne Moore: Staking her claim as the reigning queen of all things black, the actress selected a luxe wool overcoat I want to own right now, with a simple black dress oozing the elegance and simplicity of a BOSS woman. Her accessories really helped cap off a stellar look. This is perhaps one of my favourite looks this fashion week.

Dakota Johnson: The actress, whose promo tour has consisted of only black and white, kept that theme going, adding a touch of grey to her look via a BOSS wool coat. Like Julianne, the look was also chic but in a much more relaxed manner. If Julianne’s look was to be labelled Editor-in-Chief, Dakota would be Deputy editor.
