Blake Lively In Balmain – Announcement Of The New Face Of L’Oreal Paris

Blake Lively In Balmain - Announcement Of The New Face Of L'Oreal Paris

Already the spokesperson for Gucci’s Première fragrance, Blake Lively was announced as the newest face of L’Oréal Paris via the brand Instagram yesterday morning.

The actress was clearly overjoyed about the partnership, saying, “I’m thrilled and honoured to join the incredible women who represent L’Oréal Paris. I grew up with the inspiration of their message, ‘We’re worth it'; what an important value to instil in women.”

Blake is in good company joining the L’Oréal Paris Dream Team, which includes Lara Stone (their newest ambassador), Gwen Stefani, Cheryl Cole, Freida Pinto, Julianne Moore, Jane Fonda, Fan Bingbing, Eva Longoria, Liya Kebede, Inès de La Fressange, Sonam Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Doutzen Kroes.

Bring on Cannes 2014.

For the official announcement held at the Shangri-La Hotel Paris, France yesterday evening, the actress turned to another French brand, Balmain.

She donned a blue-and-white off-the-shoulder, long-sleeve Spring 2014 bouclé houndstooth dress with a pleated flounced skirt accented with a shimmering silver belt with a gold link-chain trim.
I love the dress. It’s so clean and fresh and therefore appropriate for a beauty launch.

The nude Christian Louboutin ‘Filter’ pumps with a shot of glamorous sparkle via her crystal-dipped heels wouldn’t have been my first choice, but they do an amazing job of elongating her slender legs.

I would’ve also preferred her hair up, but beauty does encompass hair, so glossy, flowing tresses were of course required here.

Hair Trend Spotting: Autumn Blonde

Hair Trend Spotting Autumn Blonde 2

Just like the summer heat and sun make light, bright blonde seem apropos, so does the cool of fall make blondes long for a darker shade.

Blake Lively recently took her beachy blonde to a deeper golden hue, and Kate Bosworth–a color chameleon who we regularly see switch from blonde to brunette–went from her recent blonde ombré to a creamy honey blonde.

And it seems quite a few brunettes are trying to meet the blondes in the middle.

Sofia Vargara and Kim Kardashian seem to be leading the pack, and Sarah Hyland just wowed on the red carpet with extremely blondes ends on her brunette locks.

Do you change your hair colour with the seasons?

Best Dressed Of The Week – Blake Lively In Gucci, David Gandy In Dolce & Gabbana and David Beckham In Burberry Tailoring

BDOTW

Blake Lively was the overall winner for best dressed this week; she looked outstanding with a grownup sexy attitude, wearing a Gucci Resort 2014 leather dress with impeccable styling and a dark-blonde ‘do.

When it came to the fellas your pick was the handsome Dandy Gandy in his three-piece Dolce & Gabbana suit. The smouldering eyes, the handsome good looks, the suit: whatever your reason for voting for him, he deserved the win.

I, on the other hand, picked David Beckham in his classic Burberry Tailoring suit. You need not ask why.

Blake Lively In Gucci – Beauty In Wonderland

Following Blake Lively’s front-row appearance at Gucci’s Spring 2014 show, the actress attended the Beauty in Wonderland exhibition in Milan, Italy yesterday evening.

The face of Gucci Premiere couldn’t wait to get her hands on the latest collection, selecting this shimmering drop-waist halter jumpsuit with a sporty blue-and-green trim.

I prefer Blake when she takes the sexy sophisticated route, like she did on Wednesday.

This would’ve looked great on Rihanna, but style-wise I don’t think it was the right choice for Blake.

Blake Lively In Gucci – Front Row @ Gucci Spring 2014

Blake Lively In Gucci - Front Row @ Gucci Spring 2014

Blake Lively and Anna Wintour were reunited in the front row at Gucci’s Spring 2014 show, which kicked off Milan Fashion Week this afternoon.

The actress wore an marigold nappa leather Gucci Resort 2014 dress with a criss-cross halter neckline, which she accented with a tonal belt.

Her sexy frock was styled with Gucci sandals in an autumnal metallic-copper hue, a nude clutch, gold bamboo bracelets plus a bold red pout and sleek tresses completing her look.

Not all of you are fans of Blake’s look, but even you non-believers can see a more grown up level of sexy sophistication here.

If you are having a mild case of déjà vu, that’s because Blake wore a leather Gucci dress in the same hue to the 2011 Teen Choice Awards.

Blake Lively for Lucky September 2013

Blake Lively Lucky

Blake Lively graces the cover of Lucky’s September 2013 issue which is a first for the new editor-in-chief, Eva Chen, formerly of Teen Vogue, who has given Lucky a makeover and taken the mag down a high-fashion route.

The former ‘Gossip Girl’ star wears a cornflower-blue Gucci wool coat on the cover with the tag line “I don’t have a stylist. I trust myself”. Which she has said several times before. We get it Blake.

The rest of her editorial shot by Patrick Demarchelier sees her wearing Givenchy, Anthony Vaccarello, H&M, Marc Jacobs and DKNY.

She opens up to the magazine about her marriage to Ryan Reynolds and the couple’s fashion sense.

You are read more, including the rest of Blake’s editorial over at LuckyMag.com. Here are some extracts from her interview. The magazine hits newsstands August 6.

On comments about her style: “I never think about how other people will respond to the way I dress. Dressing up is all about reflecting how I feel, not about the paparazzi”.

On marriage changing her style: “I was recently asked how my style has changed since I got married, as if I was living under some sort of dictatorship. I should hope I dress differently at 25 than I did when I graduated high school. I hope I never stop changing.”

On Ryan’s interior decorating skills: “I’m very lucky to be with someone who has better taste than me. We influence each other in different ways. With film and TV, you don’t see the results for months. Building a home, you get immediate gratification.”
