Elisabeth Moss In Jonathan Simkhai – ‘Top Of The Lake: China Girl’ Cannes Film Festival Photocall

Unlike Gwendoline Christie, Elisabeth Moss veered towards a more sombre mood while attending the ‘Top Of The Lake: China Girl’ Cannes Film Festival photocall this afternoon (May 23).

While I do really like the bold hue of this Jonathan Simkhai purple dress and its silhouette enhancing quality, the overall look feels too mature for Elisabeth.

Her Oscar de la Renta look didn’t pay off, but I would still like to see her bring a sense of fun back to her red carpet tonight.

Gwendoline Christie In Fendi – ‘Top Of The Lake: China Girl’ Cannes Film Festival Photocall

Gwendoline Christie tends to stick to two designers: Giles (for obvious reasons) and Vivienne Westwood, so I was delighted to see her step outside her comfort zone for the ‘Top Of The Lake: China Girl’ Cannes Film Festival photocall this afternoon (May 23).

The lightweight Fendi Spring 2017 printed design makes this piece ideal for a warm-weather event down by the French Riviera.

I love that she wore Fendi red and white wave heels from the Resort 2017 collection, as they’re not only fun and carefree, but they also heighten the summery feel.

Nicole Kidman In Versace – ‘Top Of The Lake: China Girl’ Cannes Film Festival Photocall

Officially Nicole Kidman arrived at Cannes Film Festival on Sunday, but fashion wise she arrived yesterday, and I was delighted to see the magic of Monday carry on to this afternoon (May 23) for the ‘Top Of The Lake: China Girl’ photocall.

Oozing the kind of day time glamour I can fully get on board with on a Tuesday afternoon, the queen reigned supreme in Versace.

Possessing hints of sex appeal via the cold shoulder and sultry slit, this draped silhouette is filled with modern flair while exuding feminine charm.

Christian Louboutin ‘Harler’ pumps completed her look.

Isabelle Huppert In Gucci & Christian Dior Couture – ‘Happy End’ Cannes Film Festival Photocall & Premiere

Flowy fashion statements have been Isabelle Huppert’s M.O. at the Cannes Film Festival, and that theme showed no sign of waning at the ‘Happy End’ photocall and premiere on Monday (May 22).

Photocall: I haven’t been impressed with Isabelle’s Cannes looks thus far, so this Gucci Pre-Fall 2017 gown was a welcome relief—not only for its vibrant print but also because it actually fit properly.

Premiere
: Unfortunately, this Christian Dior Spring 2017 Couture gown reversed the upward trend, as it was rather ill-conceived in its washed-out colour along with the age-inappropriate sheer skirt and silver platform pumps.

Sofia Boutella In Rodarte & Prabal Gurung – ‘The Mummy’ Sydney Premiere

Sofia Boutella joined her co-star Annabelle Wallis this weekend for the Universal Celebration of ‘The Mummy Day’ on Saturday (May 20) in Hollywood, California, followed by the Sydney premiere earlier today.

Universal Celebration of ‘The Mummy Day’: It hasn’t been a great weekend for Rodarte, and I’m going to pour salt into the wound as I don’t dislike the dress. It feels too sombre and too heavily sequined for a Saturday afternoon event, although it seems to work for the moody backdrop.

‘The Mummy’ Sydney Premiere: Much like Annabelle, Sofia’s Prabal Gurung Fall 2017 red carpet look had a futuristic vibe about it. Unfortunately, this is missing everything I loved about her Annabelle’s dress; the impact, the excitement and the oldness…I could go on.
