Shailene Woodley In Ralph Lauren Collection – ‘Insurgent’ World Premiere

Shailene Woodley In Ralph Lauren Collection - 'Insurgent' World Premiere

Shailene Woodley attended the world premiere of ‘Insurgent’ held at Odeon Leicester Square on Wednesday (March 11) in London, England.

The actress took the minimalist approach to red carpet evening dressing wearing a clean-cut Ralph Lauren Collection dress detailed with an open back and striped sleeves which successfully marries elegance with contemporary edginess.

Some might have expected more for a world premiere, but Shailene – known for her tomboy style – decided to write her own rules for enchanting evening wear.

This just falls totally flat. Maybe on an actress who’s a little more charismatic on the red carpet this pared down simple look would have been fine but not on her. It needs something to lift it, accessories, hair, make-up, something. The entire thing looks like an after thought, which for a world premiere, for me is unforgivable.

I think this is very boring for a young girl at a world premiere. At the same time it’s a million times better than the other awful things she’s been wearing so far.

The dress is very nice, but I wish her styling had been a little more impactful. As is, the look is a bit bare.

Such a beautiful, simple and timeless look. The back details are gorgeous and it’s nice to see them since catwalk imagery is often limited to the front view. Trust Ralph Laurent to feel amazing and it will happen. x

I echo everyone else: at first sight the elegance of the skirt catches my eye, but on further examination the look as a whole is everything but, shame.

This is a very elegant and sleek choice, I love the minimal make up and hair, plus the back of the gown was exquisite!

A clean elegant look, she looks very lovely but the back of dress looks cheap/poorly made unfortunately.

      I agree.

Agreed as well. The back is ugly

Maybe it’s just me, but I always find something missing from her red carpet styles. Not sure what it is though…

Simple and she looks great. I’m getting a strong feeling of deja vu about this though.

I personally find this look awful. The back detail is buckling, you can see her undergarments, the creases in the fabric look cheap (especially from the back), and the hair and makeup seem uninspired rather than tom-boy or minimalist.

The shoulder and back detailing looks great from afar, but in the close up it looks a little like basket-weaving gone wrong.. Loving the hair and makeup though – the epitome of elegance!

I like the sleek choice on her but the detail on the shoulders and back is clunky and not at all cute
