Hailee Steinfeld was positively beaming at the 2014 Met Gala, themed ‘Charles James: Beyond Fashion’ at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City today (May 5).
Of course, the young starlet and burgeoning trendsetter had every reason to smile at one of New York fashion’s biggest nights.
Outfitted in Prabal Gurung, she followed the glamorous dress code of the evening in a masterfully sculpted creation—a riff on the high-low trend, complete with a sweeping train—also wearing black and white like co-chair Sarah Jessica Parker.
Smartly extravagant in its shapely, molded ball-gown shape, the design also received a dose of modern edge via the monochromatic, colour-blocked palette and racer-back silhouette.
A low, centre-parted bun and sparkling Van Cleef & Arpels floral earrings brought the classic elegance right back into play, though.
