Katy Perry In Dolce & Gabbana – The Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute To The Beatles

Katy Perry In Dolce & Gabbana - The Night That Changed America A Grammy Salute To The Beatles

Katy Perry attended ‘The Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute To The Beatles’ held at the Los Angeles Convention Center on January 27, 2014 in Los Angeles, California, where she performed on the night.

The singer wore a blush-pink-and-burgundy jacquard floral-print Dolce & Gabbana dress and cape which if I didn’t know better I would say was a pregnancy cover-up or a look from André Leon Talley’s first collection.

Looking at this ensemble I want to join the von Trapp family, pull down some curtains, and dance around in my bedroom singing ‘My Favourite Things’.

Not a good look. It was a very hit-and-miss weekend for Miss Perry.

So much old-fashioned and overwhelming fabric!

      Totally. This is awful.

This is one of her worst looks.
As you said, looks like she took her old curtains to make this dress.

IMO it wasn’t “hit and miss” it was just “miss”.
I don’t know why Katy is insisting on these big, puffy gowns with way too much fabric and OTT patterns. I think what suits her most is sexy yet quirky looks in bold, block colours.

      ITA.

I don´t like it, she has a great body so she could wear beautiful tight modern dresses. Besides, she is missing a leather clutch bag!

Seriously? Maybe, and I stress maybe, nice cushions could be made with all that fabric. And the length is unflattering.

    Lmao. Too much

Oh no! Grandma’s curtains exploded all over Katy Perry! :(

Oh dear. What was she thinking?

Love that she tries to mix things up a bit, but this is … not working. :(

    Beautiful from the neck up.

Really, really awful. The color combination is terrible, the fabric is ugly, and the cape is too much, as is the dress. If she has a stylist (which I’m sure she does), that person needs to have their head examined. I don’t expect Katy to wear conventional clothing, but she should be wearing outfits that are flattering!

Dowdy, frumpy, overwhelming, costumey. This is awful.

Dear Lord I almost forget how to breathe.

Maybe she had run out if gowns and was forced to steal the hotel drapes. That is how it looks to me.

She’s giving Kim K a run for her money! This is a hideous combo and she can do sooooo much better! I dont like anything about this- not the shoes or the awful clip-on bangs.

You can tell she’s going for those old school Edith Head costume designs for Audrey Hepburn. It didn’t quite get there, but still… I’m kind of enjoying it. I’ve always been a sucker for capes.
