Austin, Texas seems to be the place to be this week with the film festival taking place in the city, but Solange Knowles was there attending the Verizon Wireless and Nokia Live event.
The singer/DJ wore one of her favourite labels: Marni.
She mixed up her Edition 2013 look by wearing a mocha polka-dotted blazer and blue polka-dotted shirt from the Winter Edition with a green pleated skirt from the Spring Edition. They could easily be from the same collection; she has mixed the pieces flawlessly.
I have conceded that the white shoe trend appears to be here to stay. Especially as these appear to be her shoe colour of choice at the moment.
Keeping her signature hair and red lippie intact, she completed her look with a gold mirrored clutch.

I like the dots all together, but the long blazer + tiny skirt + short-waisted top is oddly proportioned to me. Don’t like the skirt length or the style of the shoe.
The proportions are off, agreed, the skirt is way too short, and the white shoes are jarring.

I feel like this is how you do fashion. It’s unexpected but cohesive. It’s fun but functional. She just gets it unlike other regulars you see at fashion shows.
I love Marni but not everyone gets it or can wear it. She loks great. I am also glad she wore the shoes that she did. The total Marni look can be too much.

I LOVE everything about this except the shoes.
I don’t have a special dislike for white shoes but I think a similar shoe in either black or mocha would have worked better here. I find the bright white a bit distracting.
this look is very Solange. Mixed prints, color, feminine, tailored. LOVES it
no matter what i can only bring myself to wear white shoes to a sorority events when all white is required.
